I whale out sometimes (Apoc & Sunspot bundles) but not feeling the variants at all and gold isn't a positive ratio, which kind of makes sense because of variants implied value in game.
Still for anything over $20 I need to be getting collectors tokens

This is the conversation I've seen on the devs side. A fair amount of creators talk about it, beta players it's not as much of an issue but with all the new players starting to finish pool 3 a lot more slow progression feed back is coming. They need to get ahead of the backlash

Just had one of the most generous gifts given to me from a non family member.
A community member, artist, rockstar, amazing human being knew how bummed I was about not getting the $100 Hellfire bundle since I got all the other variants & gifted it to me for Xmas.

To each their own, one of my best friends loves Baby variants and collects em all but those are 700G variants like Dan Hipps (whole other example)
I think the average player is upset getting a spotlight hipp, baby or chibi. Might as well spotlight a Pixel

.... I was today years old when I learned on the CL track screen when you press your number it takes you to the top of the track; I had been scrolling up to 13k+ on the CL track from an old Spotlight at 9.3k

Took me over an hour in this run, went down to my final 1 or 2 cubes 3 of the 5 matches.
Big 8 cuber to start the final match and then a district x chaos match for the final 2.

Snap obviously has trash prizes/rewards (ooo 200 credits, thanks pfft)
The 1 year anniversary would have been a good opportunity to give everyone a new card for free. Kind of like kitty (no bugs though)

It's not the deck you're playing it's how you play it. Good players can have a 70% win rate and you can have a sub 50%
That being said learning a decks matchups is huge. Don't change decks all the time

So even the winner kind of loses by not getting to see their fun combos & set up pay off

Uninstalled the game, might reinstall in a few days once it's all died down (my Annoyance I mean) or maybe just play on the PC (which I rarely did)
Or who knows might just move on to the next game.

Thanos is very hard to pilot well and know when and how to use stones or tech cards. 100% my vote.
Then Shuri, positioning to avoid aero loses is huge so that takes planning.
