This one made me unreasonably mad to watch because literally the whole plot of the game is about how this Link isn’t the descendent of previous Links and has to work to gain the power of the Triforce of Courage. This isn’t a theory, it’s in the game’s literal text.

Simon Belmont is the face of the Castlevania series as a whole regardless of whether or not he’s in later games. Not even as an classic preference; everyone knows Simon if they know Castlevania. Doing Alucard over him would’ve been a mistake, and they made the right choice here.
