I'm sure it's a coincidence Korban announced his retirement less than a week after the board declined to grant him a raise.
At yesterday's @SWBNewOrleans board of directors meeting, board members met in executive session for nearly an hour for exec dir Ghassan Korban's performance evaluation. They made no recommendations for a raise. The topic could come up again or that might be it. (1/2)

This is @swbneworleans Sewer Station A. It handles all the sewerage from Uptown, the CBD, LGD, a big chunk of Mid-City... basically everything in the blue area here. The station is in red. S&WB needs to say if they have a sewer problem (note there pumps driven by 25 Hz in there).

This was played first at the 1/27 @SWBNewOrleans Board mtg. At first, the sound was off for the first 20 seconds. Then they had sound but no video. Then they restarted it. After it played, a boardmember asked if it would post to social media, which Korban said it would shortly.

3 of the six 2024 SWB accomplishments were mandates in law or regulation with 2024 deadlines, two of which - streamlining the bill dispute process and introducing fixed billing - came out of the 2024 state legislative session and thus didn't exist at the beginning of the year.

A large chunk of the budget of @SWBNewOrleans , including the funding for the new power complex, flows through these channels getting cut off.
The decision could affect trillions of dollars and cause widespread disruption in health care research, education programs and other initiatives.

@Dan_5DotOh It is unclear whether a raise will be granted this year. History suggests not. However, history also shows that the evaluation process can drag on for months (last year's raise was granted in March). Best to keep a close eye on it.

@BruceB010 @SWBNewOrleans I didn't say that. Korban's 2024 raise wasn't granted until March.
(1/4) At today's @SWBNewOrleans board of directors meeting, the board voted to increase the salary of Executive Director Ghassan Korban by 3%. According to the salary published in the 2022 audit, this will increase his salary from $338,365 to $348,515. There was 1 vote against.

And the answer is "no." @SWBNewOrleans announced a boil water advisory in portions of New Orleans East within minutes of this post. It's three of the four areas that had BWA's on Monday. S&WB needs to say why the Michoud water tower didn't protect Venetian Isles.
Water demand citywide goes up in the evening at the same time temperatures are dropping, making water main breaks - and a pressure drop - likelier. Will @SWBNewOrleans tip over into a point where they can't sustain it, causing a boil water advisory? St. Bernard already has.

The part in Venetian Isles makes little sense. There is a whole water tower just to the west of Venetian Isles put back into service in 2019 specifically intended to prevent just such an occurrence.
