had good intentions with the whole transfer portal but since our last game this year(4/29), there have been over a 1,000 baseball players enter into the portal… and D1 season isn’t even over. That’s an absurd number.

It’s miraculous that when things aren’t going your way; doubt, feeling like a failure, frustration, sadness start to creep in. Then God sends you a message through the people around you reminding you that you’re chasing him and bringing others to him! That my success is in him!

Today has been one of the craziest days in my life. I am saddened by what this could mean for our team. Everything we worked for: blood, sweat and tears feels as if it’s all for nothing. I love our team and this will not break us but will build us!

I got to see a former coach of mine this morning. It made me reminisce about the team we had & the way he coached & led me. It’s crazy how God puts people in your life to lead & support you. I’m thankful for all the coaches that molded me & continue to mold me! More than a game!

Love is shown in multiple ways. Passion, gifts, physical, words, actions, etc. One way that is often forgot about is tough love. The way to make someone recognize that there is a higher standard. But it means nothing without the other forms to go with it.

As I get older and build more stuff, I have come to the conclusion that Allen Wrenches are the most frustrating tool invented. My fat fingers, paired with that small tool that never fits in the hole right. Let’s keep it simple with a screwdriver please.

I am not against the portal. I think the transfer portal when it was created was a great way to connect players to teams. I just feel the # of kids to me is alarming. I love all my players. Just feel the portal has developed into something outside of its original intentions.

1 thing I learned very early as a coach is to respect all coaches, no matter what level they coach or how good/bad you think they are 1. Karma will catch up to you quick (I know from experience) 2. Coaches you interact with are aconnection or has a connection. You interview daily

Growing up yelling “Kobe” with the friends playing basketball in the backyard. Loved watching you play but also watching how you led others and held them accountable. Prayers out to your family. I’ll hold family members a little tighter tonight.

Random idea to help the “bowl game” issue. With a 12 team playoff, more teams have something to play for. Why not have another tournament style bracket? NIT does it for basketball. You get this:
