This is a good question from what we’ve seen. To me, the 2 #AllForCITY CMs (you may even call them CDMs) tend to move wide or deep to cover space that the wingbacks vacate. So not really as a CB but you’ll see them fill a variety of space depending on WB positioning.

The illness in #AllForCITY camp referred to on the broadcast is probably the go to answer for “why did X player play here” or “why didn’t I see X player” I’d say today’s game offers takeaways in how the overall model looks in this 3-5-2 re:spacing, interplay & transition defense

Tomas Totland with heroics at the end, crashing the box in his winger role ties it 1-1. Good turnover created by @stlCITYsc and numbers in the final third gave them the open man when the ball landed to Totland far side. Hard fought goal to equalize it. #AllForCITY

Trialist is playing the CM role as this saw more like for like subs. Two noteworthy things here: 1. Trialist indicates #AllForCITY is looking at CM depth 2. We’ve seen exclusively like for like subs in 2 Coachella games. Comfortable saying 3-5-2 is our preferred formation now.

@ScottClemenson @FlyoverFooty @stlCITYsc Well, players grow year over year… that’s a good thing when they do. But also this is a look at who all is in camp currently and/or who is under contract so it’s likely a few of those 2nd 3rd deep names will drop off somehow.

I have all 3 #AllForCITY SuperDraft players (not under contract yet) as well as all contracted non-loaned players slotted in, so the true depth chart will change for the start of the season, but this gives you a good idea of where we might be stronger or weaker in certain spots.

Felt like a midseason @FlyoverFooty with news and notes followed by a full match recap. Different style for preseason, but w/what we know from the #AllForCITY FL matches + what we saw… we were excited to dive into what it all means.

Well deserved feature on Cedi. Tied for leading #AllForCITY goal scorer in ‘24 + 9 points in 10 games and we just passed the 1 year mark since reports of our interest in him. Have a feeling 2025 is going to be special for Teuchert.
