@davetroy Wouldn’t you think they have the data already or ways to get it? But not dismantle, dismantling only deceases its value. And except infrastructure he really can’t dismantle wo Congress. He cares not abt good governing, why start now? Agree, not abt tax cuts except cover.

@kevin_snapp Enforcement of the current injunction would not be against Trump, but against those acting in his stead. Trump will not prevent the US marshals office from fulfilling its statutory duties against people he finds annoying or no longer necessary. He still needs the judiciary.

@NastyOldWomyn @jolberding01 I did not suggest that. Only that mootness may come quick. Like one of my current fictional characters, Captain Aubrey is fond of saying, we must crack on, there is not a moment to lose.

@jimstewartson Popcorn at the wait for when US Marshals show up w a bench warrant. Marshals are protected by statute, Trump calling the USMs off would itself not be a core presidential power. Besides, T needs the Supremes more than he needs Musk.

Not ready yet to concede the courts can say anything. Art. III power is also still viable, self checking, can command and compel action, and will do that when its own power structure is threatened. Supremes know that, as does the executive as each remain reliant on the other
Failure of imagination, unfortunately. “The courts” can say whatever they like. The coup will continue until enforcement (executive branch action) intervenes physically. That’s not forthcoming. Further, Trump and Musk both go down in a scenario where the coup is only partially successful. Ergo, the coup has to go to completion, and there is nothing to stop it. Checkmate.

@NastyOldWomyn @jolberding01 Timing matters hugely too. What to do when the facts massively outrun the case? How can one injunct say closing the DoE, after the workers are scattered, files removed, destroyed, the offices emptied, leases terminated? Physical dismantling reads like core executive power.
