*We all agree it is essential, so lets get phase 5 of the Dawlish Rail Resilience programme signed off before it is too late.*

If the Dawlish line does not get funding released for essential repairs in the next 6 months, the whole process has to be restarted, (with money down the drain,) and if the line is not fixed, most of Devon and Cornwall will be cut off!

I have raised the question of funding the Dawlish rail line in parliament, and have had following meetings with MPs, and with the rail minister.

Yesterday I planted the cross for Newton Abbot in Westminster for remembrance. Security and freedom in Europe should never be taken for granted.

We must ensure extra NHS funding is delivered for patients, including through extra GP and dentist appointments. We also urgently need a proper plan to fix social care if we are to fix the NHS. The government needs to launch cross-party talks on social care without delay.

Additionally, we need answers for Teignmouth and Torbay hospital. They need investment.

I am disappointed to see nothing for the Dawlish rail resilience programme. I want to make sure that infrastructure projects like this are treated as an essential part of spending. Without this, Devon and Cornwall are at risk of being cutoff.

It is disheartening that the bus price has been raised from £2 to £3, which will affect many rural constituencies. The Liberal Democrat team will be fighting to put it back, so we welcome that the bus cap policy has been at least retained in principle.

💼 Plenty to think about with the new budget. Fixing the fiscal hole is no small feat. I will be holding the government to account, and making sure Newton Abbot is properly represented: 🧵

I'm backing @rozsavageMP who will be proposing the Climate & Nature Bill. Let's make it happen!
@rozsavageMP 👏 178 MPs, 64 Peers and 372 local councils are backing the #CANBill! Thank you to everyone who’s calling for change. 🌿 @rozsavagemp: “We can lock the science into law. We can secure a liveable future. With your help, we can do this. The time is now. Yes, we CAN.”

In July, @MartinWrigley was elected MP for Newton Abbot with a 15201, 1 more than the number of £'s that Winston Churchills dentures sold for at auction in 2010. After a trim last weekend, Martins hair is no longer (ve)neer the tops of his ears!

Keir Starmer confirms what the Health Secretary told #BBCBreakfast yesterday that the Government did not carry out an impact assessment on cutting winter fuel support for millions of pensioners

‘Ministers did not carry out a specific impact assessment on the withdrawal of the winter fuel payment from the bulk of pensioners, such as the potential effect on illness and death rates among older people, Downing Street has said.’ So much for grown up politics.

In our manifesto we have a plan to fund our NHS. £26.9bn from measures including overhauling capital gains tax to raise £5.2bn for the NHS by 2028-29, as well as a windfall tax on fossil fuel companies and reversing tax breaks on bank profits. Our NHS is in crisis.

1/2 @Keir_Starmer and @wesstreeting need to face the facts. Labour must stop pretending that we can provide the NHS services people expect without increasing taxes – we need to tax those who can afford it the most to ensure our communities get the healthcare they deserve.
