GW hired a lobbyists in May citing “high education issues,” which is the first time in 15 years GW has hired federal lobbyists. A GW Spokesperson declined to comment on which specific issues the lobbyists are lobbying for and how long the University’s contract is with the firm

Last year, students voted to abolish the JEC and requested the SGA revise their bylaws. But the SGA didn’t realize the JEC no longer existed until Dec. where a scramble ensued to recreate the JEC ahead of SGA elections, pushing the election into April for the second year in a row
