THIS is what youth sports is about!! Our oldest daughter’s basketball team has continued to improve and attract better and better talent. With that comes many blessings (better competition in practice so girls improve more, more fun, more wins, etc.) but also challenges (playing time, chemistry, parent drama, etc). So this year, instead of playing opening weekend of the AAU season, we invited all the girls to come to a middle school event at our church and stay the entire weekend at our house. The laughter, conversations and manners that these girls demonstrated are so encouraging! Win or lose, I pray these girls look back on these years as some of the most impactful and fun years of their lives. THIS, is why we do what we do Brooke Pancratz!! (I think Brooke set the record for most heads braided in a 15min period 😂!)

People will doubt you. People will talk bad about you. People will purposefully undermine you. But if you know it’s going to happen, DON’T let them stop you. Don’t let them win. Go and do what YOU are capable of!! God and the TRUE people will see it, feel it and APPRECIATE it. (And if they don’t, you can sleep well knowing you did ALL you could do!!)

So your kids season is over…. Maybe you are excited about a break…. Or, maybe YOU want to get in the gym and get back to work, TODAY. ⚠️ Caution ⚠️ If YOU desire to get back in the gym more than your kid does… Maybe, just maybe, your perspective and purpose around youth sports needs to be analyzed and adjusted. Discipline is needed… Dedication is needed… ..from our kids. Don’t make it about you. (REMINDER: my daily morning posts are my personal thoughts that come to me during my quiet time and morning workout time. This thought convicted me hard this morning!)

Your journey will… …have a lot of challenges …have a lot of successes but WILL BE one heck of a testimony! Don’t. Let. Up. Keep believing!!

You say things that are true but they aren’t. Look back at your life. You’ve made it through countless challenges that, in the moment, you thought they were TOUGH….maybe insurmountable. You have done it before, you can do it again. YOU are an OVERCOMER!!

What. A. Win!! Being #8 in the country on February 1st, many would say today was not a must win for Tennessee. However, with the way they’ve been playing, the strength of the league, this being a home game, the doubting climate around town, the importance of seeding in the SEC and NCAA tournament and (I’ll stop here)… …to achieve the goals Tennessee has for the year, this game was absolutely as close as it comes to a must win there is!!! Tough, gutsy, impressive win @Vol_Hoops!
