Portland officially reported 1.4" snowfall today, extending the streak of consecutive "snowy" winters. We've experienced at least SOME measurable snow each of the last 10

Cold...but at least it's a "calm cold" for you folks over in Harney County. I see it just dropped to -18 in Burns at 9pm 🥶

Quick explanation plus a "best and worst case scenario" later this week in my weather blog this evening. Sorry about the poor timing florists and bakeries!

End of week weather blog post just finished. Big picture: relatively uneventful in lowlands through the weekend, but more interesting as we get into next week.

A persistent atmospheric river flowing into the Great Basin will nail southcentral and southeast Oregon with snow the next 5+ days. High desert areas around Lakeview, Burns, and Klamath Falls will pick up FEET of snow. Excellent for spring/summer water supply

New weather podcast just dropped. Of course it's all about the upcoming snow setup, plus an introduction to our newest team member @major_weather. Payton grew up right here! Plus, @CamilaOrtiTV went on quite a rant about those weather apps. Video here

Working on weather blog post later this evening, but forecast hasn't changed. Cold showers (mainly snow) come/go Sunday night through Wed. Could impact mainly morning commutes. Watching closely to see if cold arctic air pours through Gorge later next week and causes trouble 😲

25° at PDX this morning, edged out Sunday's 26° for coldest of winter...so far. Not pipe-busting cold, especially with days in the 40s, in fact good for our gardens. Repeated cold nights like this really keeps them in dormancy well

Have you noticed the brighter evenings? We are slowly pulling out of the darkest time of year. Another 1/2 hour of daylight in the evenings in just the next 3 weeks
