Good night Jamaica! I’ve been reliably informed by some of the students that they have safely crossed into Poland. They can finally get some rest after the long & arduous journey. Next stop Yaad 🇯🇲 let’s continue to support them on their journey home. What courage!
It was wonderful to spend time with our former Party Leader and PM today on her birthday. God bless you, Sista P. Wishing you continued health, strength and happiness today and always.
Morning Jamaica. I’ve continued to maintain contact w/some of the students, & it appears bus arrangements from Lviv to the Poland border didn’t go as planned. 24 students are now walking 38 km to the border, about a 9hr walk & trying to reach b4 dark.Let’s keep them in our prayers
Last yr a young man, Mr Chavando Thompson, showed great bravery in saving 2 children from a terrible fire in Jones Town. I was moved by his selflessness & nominated him for a

Ladies your safety is paramount! Please note that pepper spray & mace for personal protection are excluded from the definition of an “offensive weapon” in JA & therefore LEGAL! link below
Section 2(2) of Offensive Weapons (Prohibition) Act 2001 does this.
This time of year, hundreds of endangered Jamaican sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. I’m appealing to all Jamaicans to help protect this important species by reporting any suspicious activity around their sites & not support the sale of their meat, shells nor eggs. 🐢
Slow start but we finish strong. Thank you to all the people who supported me in this process. Comrade leader

I’ve just learned of the tragic loss of Joseph “Jo Mersa” Marley. A talented young reggae artiste, son of Stephen Marley & grandson of Bob Marley at only 31 yrs old. The loss of a child is a devastating blow no parent should face, my condolences to Stephen & the entire family.
A wholehearted ‘thanks’ to everyone who watched, listened and commented on the official launch of our campaign. I have been excited to share my plans for the PNP with you and I’m glad you took the time. On Nov. 7th

Jamaican tanks are on empty & so are their pockets. The hedge fund tax has amassed $30 BILLION in the last 5yrs. Approx 50% of what we pay at the pump are taxes, 45c on every $.Again, I call on the Government to give motorists a break by removing the tax!

Jamaica honours the memory of one of our most original musical geniuses, Lee “Scratch” Perry. His immense body of work, as a producer & artist, underscores his influence. His unique touch & feel enriched some of our most beloved popular musical compositions. RIP Lee Perry. 🇯🇲 🎵
You can legally carry either on you for personal protection. What remains unclear are tasers. I'll commit to doing some further research & advocating for them to be permitted for personal protection if they should be considered in the same category as pepper spray or mace.

JA’s coming dead last in the regional vaccination race. The Gov banked on the Covax 16%, but that won’t cut it. Their silence is deafening. The public needs to know. Our neighbours make real progress while JA is left, hapless and exposed, in the starting blocks.
‘Dre was such a bright flame. His creative mind was always overflowing with innovative ideas. Jamaica has lost a young creative genius. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and coworkers. I am deeply saddened.

Corruption continues to be rampant under this Gov. Every week it’s a new set of scandals; it’s hard to keep track. All this is no accident. There is precious little accountability, and we must demand action from the responsible agencies. This has to stop!
Twitter we had a convo on the legality of Pepper Spray for personal protection in Mar-April. As promised, I've gotten leave to table two Private Member’s Bills to enact the changes needed. This issue is important to me, thanks for joining the conversation to bring about change!

I was invited by the GOJ to get my vaccine today. While I was reticent & preferred that the most vulnerable be vaccinated 1st, I know that as leaders we need to set an example. At a time when there is widespread skepticism we must do our best to encourage compliance.

How did San and I meet? I get this question all the time, and there’s also a lot of misinformation purposely spread about our relationship.
I was asked again this weekend by a member of our Diaspora so I thought I’d share the response with you this beautiful Sunday afternoon.

The Most Hon. PJ Patterson celebrates his birthday today. Happy Birthday PJ !!!

The credibility of the JamCovid portal is now totally shot. So much for recent assurances....another major security flaw exposed! JA demands accountability. The Gov must publish its contract now. Is there a US$ fee per user for this “free” portal? And who owns the data?

This Gov has brought no Covid-related legislation to Parliament since the pandemic began a year ago. JA faces its worst public health/economic crisis, with no legislation for any of the issues arising (eg sick leave; enforceability of social distancing rules under the DRM Act).

The problem of vulnerable Jamaicans living in places where they are exposed to environmental dangers, is not limited to supporters of any political party. Mrs Holness knows this well, but is trying to deflect attention from the Gov’s recent depredations against the people.
Juliet Holness, an MP from the ruling JLP, has lamented how politics in Jamaica has influenced the selection of unfit places for Jamaicans to settle. Highlighting the People's National Party, she declared Sunday that anywhere that is "not safe to live, Comrades live there".

Hey Simon. Sorry, you had this experience but I'm glad you shared this thread, as you stated PWD (person's with disabilities) have to deal with these challenges daily. This is a cause near and dear to me. We passed the Disabilities Act in 2014. I will create a thread to expound.
What an experience I had yesterday.

The Opposition's role is to ensure that the Government is accountable to the people of Jamaica. A stronger PNP means a stronger opposition, focused on keeping the Government accountable and responsive to the needs of our country.
Swearing-in of the new Parliamentarians, at the Jamaica Conference Centre. We have to be well-prepared, constructive, cohesive and courageous, given our relatively small numbers. An effective Opposition is vital to Jamaica’s democracy.
