I will say that The Happiness Patrol SE is extraordinary. IMHO a disturbing, comic, camp, dark, relevant masterpiece is revealed. A genuinely terrific script. A joy to work on.

The score for tonight’s Doctor Who - The Daleks In Colour features the time signatures 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 7/4, 9/4, 11/4 (1 bar only, for timing reasons!), 3/8 (ditto), 6/8, 7/8, 12/8, 15/8 and “no bar lines”. I slightly regret chickening out of 13/8 (9/8+2/4) for one cue.

Very sad news that Graham Strong, whose off-air recordings of subsequently lost Doctor Who episodes enabled many an audiobook and restoration project, has died. I last saw him just a few weeks ago when he passed his original tapes to me for safe-keeping. Thanks for everything.

There is surely something very wrong in this industry where creatives put heart and soul for months into producing something marvellous, and a studio can make more money by binning it than releasing it. Absurd. And appalling.
Many filmmakers have came out praising ‘COYOTE VS ACME’ after WB just shelved it for a $30M tax write-off.
“The best of its kind since ROGER RABBIT…. The leads are super likable. It's beautifully shot. The animation is great. The ending makes everyone fucking cry.”

When we started TVam back in 1983, it was after weeks of rehearsals & technical checks, with tried-&-tested equipment plus a large dose of innovation, and a crew mix of hardened professionals & plucky youngsters. Pretty much glitch free from day one. It’s called professionalism.

Oh. Sadly I only ever met Michael in passing. He seemed to be a lovely man, and was a superbly talented, dependable performer in much of the TV and film I have enjoy all my life from Tinker Tailor to Doctor Who. A unique voice, too. I'd love to see Quiller again. RIP.
It is with great sadness, that I have been asked by his family to share the news, Michael Jayston sadly passed away this morning after a short illness.
Those who knew Michael will know he was full of love, laughs and happiness.

FWIW. Delia herself, thought it better than hers; closer to Ron’s original score at least. She hated ALL the others.
Sneering at the Peter Howell version of the Doctor Who theme annoys me no end. If nothing else it was the exact right arrangement for the time and none of the actual target audience were scoffing 'cuh, it lacks the home made musique concrete verite of the spooky original'.
