Proud moment! I've just completed my studies
@univelcity
and finished my capstone project assigned by my instructor which validates my certificate as a backend developer! Keeping my repo private for now but can't wait to demo it in two weeks and share it with the world!!!
You guys!! I finally got it 😩😌
Turned out the password authentication was removed since last 3 years 🤦🏽♀️, generating a token is the new way of doing it now.
I had to generate a token and set a remote url and I pushed my work and it work!!! 😎
People often overlook how challenging it is to break into tech—the countless hours of effort, reading, and navigating frustrations. But the beauty lies in the journey and the rewarding results at the end.
Be optimistic!
YouTube is such an impressive platform, I really do appreciate all the tech creators for their amazing contents.
I love YouTube mehn, my favorite platform, it's so inspiring.
I suck at designing you guys 😪, that's why I went for the backend.
Anyways, this is what my media page looks like 🌚.
I know it doesn't look like your regular media page but that wasn't the goal here and that's not my area too.
God!! I love backend 😩🤭
I finally changed my course 🤗.
it was so stressful locating a CBT center in Ikeja but i suceeded😊
i guess i am an aspiring computer science student now 😌
Productive day! Spent my time researching , updating our school project from yesterday and reading through slides . Made some great progress ! How about you, what did you accomplish today ?
Hi everyone, My name is Mari Nnanna. I just started my tech journey learning backend development with
@univelcity
yesterday and I'm looking forward to connecting with people in the field and learning from them.
Watch this space to see my journey.
This DJango project is a wrap guys 🙂.
The goal was to create a memo project where users can add, delete, update or retrieve their information, it's basically performing CRUD operations.
It was a class project though, it has to do with both the frontend and backend ☺️ .
After completing a 3-month Python & Django course, I'm leveling up my backend skills. Here’s my roadmap:
Master PostgreSQL
Learn Docker
Advanced Django
Cloud Services like AWS
Explore Microservices
what else do you think i should add ?
Let's grow together 😊 let's

Another assignment from my instructor
@univelcity
.it feels so good encrypting and decrypting a word or sentence. "caeser cipher" is the oldest encryption method. It made me wonder what more I can do with python 🤔.
#developers
what is your best encryption method?
Learning python wasn't easy, but staying determined is what got me through. countless tutorials, late nights, and hands-on practice helped me grow as a dev. Still learning, still pushing forward! 🚀
A 30daysofpythonchallenge that helped me 🥹

Sometimes it's not about the time spent, but understanding the core of what you're doing. What's the point of rushing of you don't understand it? You're only deceiving yourself , what's worth doing is worth doing well. Take your time and do it right!
I have finally finished my project 😩.
My Instructor
@univelcity
told us to create a Media page 🥹.
The goal was to connect your template to your views adding the template to the settings too and set the url so that it will display in the browser 🤗
Update: After weighing your feedbacks, I'm excited to announce my next project !
Using Django docs as a reference guide, I will build a meaningful project while advancing my skills on postgreSQL along the way .
Help me choose a project that'll push my limits 🥹
You know that feeling you get when testing your endpoints and it's giving you the results? that's how I feel right now🥹😌.
The feeling of victory ☺️🙌🏾❤️
Today's discovery!🤯 I learnt that you can create a hidden and encrypted . gitignore file! Protect your sensitive info and keep your git config secure!🤝🏾 Use encryption tools to keep your . gitignore file from prying eyes 👀
What did you learn today?
Turned out it was my laptop battery that's damaged, perfect timing as my capstone project just arrived 😪. Need a new battery ASAP! Nice one, universe 🙂
I used to think I needed to know everything to be a good developer. Now I'm realizing it's all about building projects and learning as I go. I definitely don't have it all figured out, but I'm getting there 🚀💻
New discovery! 🥳
Do you know that you can't push a file larger than 100 MB to GitHub? But you can do so with Git LFS (git large file storage) ☺️
To install Git LFS on Linux: sudo apt install git-lfs , you're welcome 🤝🏾

"Learning beyond my comfort zone!"
My instructor
@univelcity
assigned a Django project incorporating HTML, CSS, Tailwindcss & JS. As a backend dev, I'm new to tailwindcss & JS but I'm excited to explore the frontend and improve my communication and research skills.
Hey fellow dev🤗, already building a career in web development but eager to expand my knowledge. Which university course will complement my web development skills? Considering computer science, but open for suggestions🌚. Wants to future-proof my skills 🥹
Worked on the second app for my local community market API. I created the model for the listing app.
Models define the structure and the organization of data in the database.
One step at a time!
I spent my day learning pytest with fixtures and fakers 🚀 Exploring AAA(Arrange, Act, Assert) patterns has been amazing. Still encountering some error though, your help would be appreciated 🥹
You know that feeling you get when birthday wishes are just coming in and you can't probably ignore and at the same time you have a project you're working on. That's me right now and the submission is tomorrow🥲🥲
I don't even know which to do 🥲
I am done working on all the apps required for my local community market API.
As a developer do you test your work while coding (with postman) or after working on the project?
Good morning guys 😊
Morning routine: 120 skips on the jump rope and stretches 😌
What have you done this morning ?
A good day to read Django documentation 🤝🏾
Check out this up-to-date web development roadmap! It offers new features, a Discord group for collaboration, and progress tracking. Perfect for anyone starting their web development journey!

Let's learn!
Using class based views, you don't have to write lots of logic because the logic has already been handled behind the scene.
I used class based view to create the views for my Django project and created a path (url) for it.
I am someone who believes that what is worth doing is worth doing well, it doesn't matter the time spent. All that matters is that your work is impressive and you can defend yourself
That's exactly what I'm doing with my API project.
Created a serializer for my messaging app.
Flashback to when someone witnessed me updating my laptop and asked, 'wow, how did you do that ?' unbeknownst to them, it was just a Linux update! I was tempted to jokingly say I was hacking into the matrix 😂
Used functional programming to work on an assignment given by my facilitator
@univelcity
😌.
Saw the usefulness of object oriented programming for code readability and maintainability after submission 😢 .
Do you also figure out a better way to solve a problem after submission?
I got 25 out of 25 points on the Git Quiz from W3Schools Successfully completed the git course on w3schools, achieving 25% on all quiz attempts on the first try!
Me figuring out how to build a local community market API 😪.
I've been trying to gather resources since morning and I'm not satisfied with what I have currently 🥲
I'm going to read documents!, these videos are not helping 🙂
I have not really been pushing my work to GitHub and I want to keep up with it. This is just a simple Media page done with Django.
You can check it out on github and tell me what you think about it , I'm still new to tech so be nice 😒🌚
I created a serializer in my users app for my Django project.
Serializers help convert complex data types like Django model instances into python data types that can be rendered into formats like JSON and other content type.
Progressing gradually 🤭☺️
✅I have completed all 30 DJANGO Exercises from W3Schools 💪

As a junior developer reading and researching is my super power.
I am so excited that i have finished my django course with w3school.
it can only get better!
"Ugh", today was one of those days!🤦🏽♀️ Spent hours working on my Django project, only to git a roadblock: 'TemplateNotFound' error🥲. Anyone else having days like this?
Would love some Django wisdom or a virtual coffee to brighten my night 😩😪💆
"Believe in yourself and your abilities!
As a girl who's seen the power of a positive attitude, I know you can achieve ANYTHING with hard work and determination.
@jojoisatechbaby
It does not take 2-3 months to be good at something.
It's just continuous practice.
Take your time and prove your worth then the job will come to you.
