tldr: This work shows that a tucked-in Fe complex reacts with CN-Xyl to give an iron-indole complex bearing an iron-carbon bond. This reaction results in two tautomers (both of which were characterized). In this reaction, the carbon-based Cp* ring is an active participant w/ Fe.
