Literally no one had a problem with Finn. They had a problem with how he was marketed as holding a Saber and then they subverted expectations in TLJ.
Problem with the female cast was they were elevated at the expense of men by making them foolish or weak.

There was no build up to this event. The last time we saw a Skrull was at the end of WandaVision and that was back in Jan 2021.
Why do they use these major comic book story events and not follow them correctly or change the original story. Makes no sense.
