I’m not a big fan of Ezra. But in this case, I’ll defend him 100%. This is completely disgusting. What’s wrong with Toronto Police???.
So protestors are allowed to incite violence against an entire people, but @ezralevant is arrested for taking a picture of them? Because his mere presence might incite hatemongers to hate more?. This is a disgrace, as is the officer who cuffed him. @oliviachow @fordnation.

Time to demand that the US secure its border. Illegal guns too.
The largest seizure of cocaine ever seized by Toronto’s Drug Squad. 875 kilos worth 83 million dollars. The Mexican Cartel were the distributors. 6 people arrested. The drugs came into Canada from the US. It was smuggled into The US from Mexico. Nice police work.

This complete lack of decency on the part of Poilievre and the close members of his team is one of the reasons that I have big issues with this version of the CPC. The insults, the name calling, and now, trashing their own because they said something nice about a Liberal.
For anyone unsure why Erin is no longer Leader of the Conservative Party…. She supported DEI policies like name, rank, and pronouns. Tampons in men’s rooms, etc…. 👇🏻.

Wow! This is why government subsidies for the press are problematic. This MP is essentially saying that a journalist should not be criticizing the government because they get subsidies. It's almost a threat.
Your paper wouldn't be in business were it not for the subsidies that the government that you hate put in place - the same subsidies your Trump - adjacent foreign hedge fund owners gladly take to pay your salary.

Trump just confirmed tonight that the tariffs have nothing to do with Fentanyl. The Canadian Conservatives on this site who parrot his bullshit need to stop. I thought conservatives were supposed to support free trade.
For Donald Trump, tariffs are the goal, not just a tool. He wants hundreds of billions to pay for tax cuts & programs, to destabilize other countries’ economies, & to create incentives to invest in the U.S. Finally, tariffs are a way to bully other countries to do what he wants.

Mrs. Freeland, bringing inflation down doesn’t make life more affordable. It makes life less affordable at a slower pace. If you are going to quote data, please try to understand it.
Mr Poilievre, we are focused on making life more affordable for Canadians: by bringing inflation down - now at 2.8 % - and by supporting the Canadians who need it most.

Trump’s inauguration is in two days time. His threatened tariffs could throw our economy into a tailspin — it’s unquestionably the most important issue on the agenda. Where is @PierrePoilievre ? I just went through his feed and there is nothing on the issue since the 1/.

This is ridiculous. Had he not lowered interest rates and done QE, Canada would have experienced a financial meltdown and a massive recession. I was working in capital markets at the time, and it was not pretty. The Bank of Canada did exactly what it needed to do.
What did Carney actually do? He rapidly lowered the interest rate starting in late 2008. This led to increased borrowing due to attractive low monthly repayment amounts. Low interest rates caused savings to plummet, and Canada seems to have been in a state of dependency on low.

You’re « deeply concerned ». You sure didn’t appear as « deeply concerned » about Hezbollah firing rockets at Israel daily over the past year. You only become « deeply concerned » when Israel finally retaliates. That says a lot.
Canada is deeply concerned by the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which has rapidly increased humanitarian needs in Lebanon. We are providing additional aid to civilians in Lebanon which will deliver food, water, and emergency care to those impacted by the conflict.

Anyone who follows me will know that I'm not a big fan of Poilievre. However, his stance on Israel is the right one -- principled, unambiguous and uncompromising, in contrast to the Trudeau government's constant equivocating and waffling.
Horrified by Tehran’s latest assault against innocent Israeli civilians with missile barrages and terrorist attacks. Millions of civilians are forced to shelter from the attacks. Conservatives support Israel’s right to defend itself and defeat the terrorists.

I don't recall her insisting that Hezbollah cease fire as they were firing more than 8000 missiles at Israel over the past year. Only once Israel responds do they call for ceasefire. Funny, that.
Canada calls for a 21-day ceasefire at the Israel-Lebanon border. Too many civilians have suffered due to this violence - it must stop. To Canadians in #Lebanon - please prioritize your safety. Leave while flights are available- it is the safest & easiest way to do so.

I’ve known many of the so-called « I’m not anti-Jew, I’m just anti-Zionist » types in my life. When they are in private and don’t know you’re Jewish, thinking you’re a good old Quebec catholic, the truth surfaces. That has happened to me very, very often. Don’t believe them .
The amusing thing about having an old-stock French Canadian father and a Jewish mother is that nobody suspects I ‘m a Jew, given my name. Believe me, the antisemites may be more vocal now, but they have always been there, lurking beneath the surface. Never forget that.

How is it appropriate for the government to be commenting on private business management decisions? If you think, as you probably do, that the lack of competition in the industry is driving decisions like this, open it up to foreign competition -- which you refuse to do.

The Bank of Canada’s comment that he is referring to was not about the impact of the carbon tax on food, but on total inflation. This is misleading at best, which unfortunately, appears to be one of his trademarks.

What on earth are you talking about? Carney was appointed Chair of Trudeau’s Economic Growth Council four months ago and the Council itself doesn’t even exist yet. I don’t like Trudeau but BS like this makes me think you’re not much better.
How has Carbon Tax Carney performed as Chair of Trudeau’s “Economic Growth Council?” . Well, under Carney’s policies, Canada’s income is smaller than in 2018 and has dropped more than any other G7 country, while U.S. incomes soar.

The CP is not “Trudeau’s personal news service”. It’s an independent wire service. It’s not an outlet for your misleading propaganda on the carbon tax. These attacks against independent media are dangerous. It’s what despots do.
Another ridiculous story from Trudeau’s personal news service (the Canadian Press), wherein they detail the hunger crisis without mentioning once who has been in power for 8 years raising taxes on food. No wonder Trudeau wants to force people to read this stuff.

This is rather amusing. Trying to take credit for the BoC's 50 bp rate cut by stating that you have created the economic conditions for rates to come down is not the win you think it is -- those conditions are growth that is weaker than the BoC was expecting.
