After I gave birth to my 1st the nurses had me get up to pee and clean up. My right leg collapsed from under me and I passed out. Nurse said “oh hunny come on, your mom did this, your gramma did this, you can do it!” like I was being a wimp. Turns out my pelvis was dislocated.

I worked with a family of 7 like this. DCF was involved/mandated they come to me for literacy services or risk removal. The first time I was alone with the 14 y/o, she begged me to help her make a flyer for dog walking - so she could “get her own apartment”. My heart shattered.
