The Manassas City Police Department regrets to announce the death of retired K9 Officer Rex, a seven year veteran of the Manassas City Police K9 Unit. Rex passed away peacefully Friday of an illness at the age of nine.

Yesterday Officer S. Oxendine was sworn in. Officer Oxendine had family present when he took the Oath of Office at our City Hall. Officer Oxendine graduates from the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy today.
It looks like we are at 3-4 inches total in the city so far. We should see the snow intensify over the next several hours before tapering off.

This year the Manassas Park Police has seen a 20 percent increase in larcenies from vehicles.
Larcenies from unlocked motor vehicle are crimes of opportunity. Residents are encouraged to lock their vehicles at all times.
Today area law enforcement officers and professional staff from the Manassas Park Police Department participated in the 2023 Polar Plunge/5K Run, which raises money for Special Olympics Virginia. We appreciate your dedication to the cause.

NOVEC has completed the replacement of the power pole. Manassas Drive is re-opened to all traffic and power has been restored to the area.
