The woman you are referring to is my aunt, Dr. Talat Jehan Khan. She is a Muslim woman, a mother of two, a well-respected member of her community, and an admired pediatrician. Say her name.

It’s been 12 days since the murder of my aunt, Dr. Talat Jehan Khan, a pediatrician at

and yet still no acknowledgement of her on their platforms. How deeply shameful and disappointing.
If anyone is in the Seattle area we will be holding a Janazah for our beloved Dr. Talat Khan at the Umar Al-Farooq mosque on Nov 2, 2023 at 1:30pm and a funeral afterwards at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of bringing flowers we kindly ask you to donate to the charity of your choice.

History glorifies pharoahs but most were narcissistic, greedy and authoritarian. They abused ordinary people for their own selfish version of the afterlife.

To those saying they accept her apology, and we should move on...you can’t tell others to get over it when her rhetoric and way of thinking doesn’t affect you. You aren’t the one to decide.
Jason Eaton has just been arraigned for the shooting of three Palestinian students in Vermont. He is charged with three counts of 2nd degree attempted murder. He is being held without bail.
Losing loved ones makes milestones that much bittersweet.
I wish my grandparents were alive to see me graduate.
Nonetheless, the spirit lives on. I couldn’t have done it without them.

This is why closing the digital divide is so important in today’s day and age. People of color and low-income communities are disproportionately impacted by lack of home internet access which in turn causes a huge disadvantage in all areas.. especially education 😔
Humanity at its best...❤️
This child doesn’t have internet access at home, so a store in the shopping mall allows him to use their tablet to do homework.
When someone you love passes away the memories become etched and ingrained. Missing them becomes a part of your daily routine. Some days are better than others, but it never goes away. Eventually you just accept that you’ll miss them for eternity.
I’m so tired of shallow takes. The same people who advocated for Pete, Biden & bootlick for Cuomo are acting as if their candidates views/policies haven’t disproportionately impacted black communities and continue to do so.
And millions drowned or died from unisanitary conditions/ illness on the ships. Not to mention many died upon capture in Africa during the slave raids. Kanye’s apparent ignorance and lack of knowledge is just getting boring at this point.
Like so many of you, Michelle and I were heartbroken to hear about the terrorist attack outside the Kabul airport that killed and wounded so many U.S. service members, as well as Afghan men, women, and children.
You can’t expect people to get over traumatic things. It will always be a part of them from that moment onwards. As a friend, the best thing you can do is try. Reach out. Listen. It makes all the difference.

Important thread: The Middle East is a made up term by white people in power, excluding and including countries when its politically convenient to them. Period.
The “Middle East” has been an unstable western construction for over a century. The

Minorities are quick to condemn white privilege and white supremacy but won’t check themselves for their own prejudice and ethnocentrism towards other minorities.
I think it’s also important to take a moment and think about those people who are having to clean public places 2x a day and other service workers. They can’t just go home & “work remote” due to the nature of their job and surely financial concerns.
