Flocked but I dont love it. If approached with laid fur instead the flex can remain. Totally passes the 15ft visual rule tho so theres that. And then I decided to split the middle toes- has to consequently be hidden with costumeing BUT,this allows for valuable ventilation.
Reminder of what my waggy tails are capable of. I can do these in two sizes (this size and a smaller size). Light as a feather, all soft construction, no wire.
I desperately need fursuit makers to know that film ready creature costumes are OFTEN literally trash inside held together with a prayer and a safety pin in hopes of surviving the shoot. I NEED you to know how much higher quality most fursuits are comparatively.
Artists deserve to thrive on their art. Not scrape by, not break even, thrive. Charge accordingly, you are producing luxury goods. Its not being a snob, its acknowledging life is short and capitalism is unreasonably unfair spawned some gross romanticism about starving artists

Still pictures of these new tails really dont say enough- some video of one in it's natural environment! Video by
@justboiler
- I have two of these left in stock btw in natural red.
The attachment part i super not-finish... like the base is not nearly as sturdy as want it to ultimately be but this is getting where I need it to. All foam construction, there is no wire.
Oh wow 10k viewers- that escalated suddenly huh, well hi there : )
Also, sale preview on those tails is coming later today I think. Just juggling some stuff today.
The new longer shape stands away from the body just as well as the smaller one. Still all foam construction, still light as a feather. This one will be available with the upcoming batch.
It was impossible to bring her out at drach this year due to the heat. I can wear it easily up to the mid 80s but after that, nah. The face is deeply sheared natfitech, the main body fur is actually what many would consider to be 'bad' fur. 1/2
Tweaked the design slightly so now I can offer this length and shape! Good for red pandas, snow leopards, various other fluffy cats and whatever else you can think of.
Day 5- Tails! So as we wrap up this week just a breif note on these! The waggy type tails as you see below come in 3 difference sizes (largest is shown) and must be fluffy- but any kind of tail is possible in regular foam or stuffed build.
Revisiting that paw cap from a while back. Same file but instead of printing and doing a mold and casting im printing directly in Varioshore. Its good, but i wanna see about some things.
So true story, there's nothing mechanical in these. The construction is all foam and I get them to do what they do passively. You can also abuse the shit out of them- they're built to withstand and be safe in larp combat. No special transport needs either, just toss in suitcase.
True story: Ive done feet -sorta- like those paws im experimenting with, before. The premis is more or less the same, im just approaching with new, more efficient technology and materials.
Reminder that my 'Super Dex Anthro' gloves are a thing- made specifically with Sew Lush on the hand part (but can be combined with other furs), these are really great gloves that offer excellent dexterity while still being furry. (Gun is not real. Its a nerf blaster.)
And I think I could potentially mostly hide the split in future iterations to if the fur is better. Its all playtesting, Ill figure it out. They are cute AF tho, and I dont normally feel compelled to comment on that.
Shape language matters! Specificity of anatomy matters! You're not just hiding the human leg, you are building somthing interesting and solid to show the viewer instead so they are less interested IN the human leg shape underneath.
Vid of the smaller size from a while back. The other great thing is, yeah they stand away from the body, but even if you are walking in a crowd, its soft, so if it bonks somebody, they cannot get hurt and the tail cant be damaged or kinked from a bump .
Sorta silly demo to show some of the abuse the soft style masks can take. They can take more, but its hard to show that with one hand. But you get the idea- these travel well and are unlikely to really break unless you are trying.
Lol good lord this mask is such a beta test in so many ways and im feeling fussy about it but while it isnt perfect, it does work! Snarl trigger is in the hand and hides in a glove.... ignore the background noise...
Ok so yeah I wanna talk to other makers in specific about the kx flex line- the paws I just did are the kx flex 40 and I dont entirely know if what im doing with it will pan out but the pads alone are -remarkably- tough and have absolutely stellar traction. Its boot like.
Good morning! Hey do me a favor would ya? Check your following status on your fave artists, journalists and others, twitter seems to be making people unfollow people.
Tail to appease the algor*thm gods
Video of the snarl mechanism... this head hadnt been painted yet but you get the idea. These rigs are really hard to do so I dont do a lot of them but would like to revisit via 3d printing. Snarl is independent from jaw movement, theres a hand mechanism thing.
Something I want people to know about larp, and costume. Your costume can be completely amazing. Utterly visually striking. If you dont have anything else to offer an interaction, people will lose interest pretty quickly and you will amount to ... pretty much decorative scenery?-
So. I have figured out a prosthetic appliance that ya stick on above your buttons and then attach a tail to. Adhesive is Reynolds derma tac here. Jumping around like an idiot to demo the hold.
There is 1 thing i dont like. Tear strength is incredible but the abrasion resistance is not high on varioshore- critical for footwear. But im gonna so somthing about that... stay tuned!
So I sent out an email to all my clients this morning- but just for a general announcement- Im going to be back at work starting January 8th. All my stuff should be completely back to functioning order by that time and I will be handling all on deck orders. 1/2
One more shot from the parking lot for good measure. First of the technical specs: It wears REALLY well. No impaired mobility and I could have done combat but the matter didnt come up.
Testing the new canine face shape plus (the pointier nose wolf, pretty much) But also handling the jaw, ears, shearing and steaming a bit different- Overall pleased! No paint on it yet, but it wont need much. This mask will be available at a later date.
I just noticed I finally breached 7k on here, thanks all! Just for that, heres some pics of a recent African Wild Dog/Hyena type critter i did recently. This was build doing regular from-mold pieces on a custom printed 3d bust of someone.
How i handle my beaks (and teeth, and claws) these days. Other than detail work/shading which is generally handled in translucent layers- I dont paint my stuff, the pigments are part of the plastic itself. This promotes a longer lifespan of the piece since the color cant wear off
The only part of this that is natfitech is the face, the rest is regular furs. Like. A. Glove. That material on the face is going to be an available option going forward on the condition the needed furs are available (the necessary colors just arent always there)
So. Silicone pawpads. My lowest profile pads yet. Thin. Squishy. Some tactile feedback thru them- low def but still. Great grip traction too! No doorknob too round!!
This is for everybody asking about how to make gloves with sew plush- I take NO credit for the kind of construction they are! its a very common way of going about simple gloves using stretch material that cosplayers have been doing for years I just applied it to fur. Link Below.
