I found the data in this story astounding. There have been nearly 2,500 boil-water notices reported in Texas this year — nearly 7 per day. And that's likely an undercount. Most are in rural areas. One water supplier is averaging 6 per month.

Food for thought on the Texas GOP convention: John Cornyn, booed in the hall, received 76% of the vote in his last primary race. Greg Abbott, who didn't give a speech, received 67%. Ken Paxton, who got a standing ovation, received 43% in March.
