NEW DRC LOCATION OPEN: Residents in Hancock County affected by the April 8th through 11th storms can now visit the Disaster Recovery Center located at the Hancock County Kiln Area Tax Assessor Building in Kiln.
NEW DRC LOCATION OPEN: Residents in Hinds County affected by the April 8th through 11th storms can now visit the Mobile Disaster Recovery Center located at the Hinds County Public Works Building in Bolton. The DRC location in Raymond at Hinds Community College is closed.
There is a slight risk of severe weather for most of MS on Wednesday (6/26/24) during the afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts up to 60-70 mph and hail up to quarter size are the main threats.

There is a significant threat of heat stress across MS on Tuesday (6/25). Temps will be in the upper 90s to around 100 with heat indices of 110 to 115 degrees. Heat exhaustion or heat stroke is increasingly likely with prolonged outdoor activity.

NEW DRC LOCATION OPEN: Residents in Scott County affected by the April 8th through 11th storms can now visit the Disaster Recovery Center located at the Usry Voting Precinct District 2 Building in Forest. MEMA and FEMA plan to open more sites in the other declared counties.
NEW DRC LOCATION OPEN: Residents in Neshoba County affected by the April 8th through 11th storms can now visit the Disaster Recovery Center located at the Dixon Volunteer Fire Department in South Philadelphia. MEMA and FEMA plan to open more sites in the other declared counties.
One year ago this week, Jackson County and Jasper County were hit by devastating tornados. One person died, dozens were injured and hundreds of homes were damaged. MEMA continues to work with local, state, and federal partners, and volunteers in the recovery process.
