This morning, MROQC welcomed Dr. Matt Cousins—former #ROQCstar resident at UM, now adjunct faculty at UM and practicing in Greenwood, SC—for an insightful presentation on cannabis use among our patients. Key takeaways from MROQC's data: ✅ 14.8% of patients with early-stage breast cancer reported recent cannabis use ✅ Pain, anxiety, and insomnia were among the most common reasons for use ✅ Patients often lack reliable education on cannabis modes of administration & active ingredients ✅ Cannabis use & high pain scores were associated with increased opioid use Dr. Cousins’ work highlights the importance of patient education to ensure safe and informed cannabis use in oncology care. 🩺🌱 📢 Want to learn more?
