Accepting help in the anti-crime fight should not be viewed as a weakness; humility and cooperativeness are signs of confidence and strength. No citizen in our country wants to see a continuation of the violent crime crisis.

It will not be the first time that when a PNM Government falls, the UNC has to fix it. We have done so in the past and are ready now again.

When you sit in a Cabinet which makes decisions to punish the very people who put you there, you have broken the essential social contract- to do all that can be done to make our country a better place.

As I wrap up my contribution, I again restate that this budget is a declaration of war on the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. But this is a war that they will lose because the people of Trinidad and Tobago have declared war on the PNM.

Today, as always, we stand ready with a plan to rebuild our economy and restore stability. We did it before, and we are ready to get the job done. Unlike this PNM Government whose only idea is to tax, tax, tax, we have practical solutions for revenue generation.

This is ironic given that the Debe South Electoral District within the PDRC has been vacant for seven months now. So, two elections in Tobago in one year but none in Debe South after 7 months without an elected representative.

The Rowley PNM government’s Housing policy has been nothing short of atrocious. The policy confusion has been acute. The lack of implementation pathetic. And the suffering of the most vulnerable distressing. But elections have consequences!

So, you can imagine my shock to discover that last year, while our children suffered, this Minister of Education did not spend 4.7 million dollars allocated for the purpose of acquiring and distribution of laptops and tablets. That could have purchased almost 10,000 devices.
