I always fall back on the classics myself. Sick of watching some new garbage or a show takes a turn I wasn't looking for? When I revisit "X-Files," "Little House," or [fill in the blank], I'm far more inspired to pursue my own work. Less content often meant better material.
I keep seeing folks get bent out of shape about this or that new crappy TV series or movie. Not me. I'm sticking to what I know I like. With decades of great shows and films available, why give stuff made for "modern audiences" the time of day? Right now, I'm reliving the glory days of 1990s SF/Fantasy TV with the early seasons of

@Andrewnsnyder As different as it is from the book, I think "Desolation" is my favorite of "The Hobbit" movies. Maybe that's largely due to Samug's presence, but it's just so entertaining. (The first one is probably the most book-accurate.)

Look, I've given "ROP" a fair shake. Probably more than most. I hope S3 is better than the last two, which have been... Insufferable at worse & underwhelming at best. But, at this point, I would much rather just see a muti-season LOTR adaptation that directly follows the books.
Jumping forward several years from the events of Season 2, Season 3 takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war and conquer all Middle-earth at last.

Another reason it was a mistake to erase the "Star Wars" Expanded Universe. Not only was Luke married to Mara Jade for decades, but her own story was an incredible tale of redemption. Erasing that for Rey was a huge downgrade. Then again, GL always said Luke doesn't marry. 🤷♂️
Do you think Mark Hamill just...cracked years ago and no longer has any identity outside of this one character he played nearly fifty years ago?

Easily "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." It's the most accurate to the books and hard to beat as far as a strict adaptation is concerned. That said, for all the changes made to "Prince Caspian," I really do like the movie a lot. "Voyage" was nerfed hardest, but still fun.

@Andrewnsnyder Even worse, (and this is a bit of a SPOILER, so sorry) he told me that he was sad that the giant was killed because it was still a living thing. This was AFTER one character had been brutally tortured and was about to be eaten. 🤷♂️

@Andrewnsnyder "The Hobbit" movies are not great adaptions, but they are at least fun by "ROP" comparison...

Okay, I've read more about it. Considering that the son of the producer of the '70s series is involved, and Sonnenshine cites her love for the original books as the reason she got into writing, I'll upgrade my comment from "absolutely not" to "you better not mess this up."
Anyone associated with "The Boys" probably doesn't belong anywhere near "Little House." I said what I said.

@DT2ComicsChat Totally fair. Comics have burned us so many times, so I understand. It's the only Marvel book I'm currently keeping up with, though. It's great!
