@hallieimrie Possibly, it might even be why Ned Jarrett was more of a pit road guy at first.

Ned Jarrett was very informative but that’s probably why he worked the pits for so long before being a booth guy.

For me, Ken Squier was that “first” voice of the season as CBS had the Daytona 500 for most of my childhood. His narrative style worked really well back when color commentator drivers were mostly “men of few words” and it welcomed millions new to stock car racing. RIP #NASCAR
