Thank you Michele Griffin for your insightful discussion at this week’s Wednesday Seminar. As the @UN Summit of the Future Director, Griffin conceived and led the effort to negotiate the historic Pact for the Future - the most comprehensive global agreement in decades, encompassing new issues such as governing Artificial Intelligence, managing the risks and opportunities of new technologies, digital cooperation, international financial architecture reform, and acting for future generations. The Pact is also the first agreement in decades on nuclear disarmament, outer space governance, and Security Council reform. In case you missed it, view Griffin’s discussion of her milestone work:

SSP’s Barry Posen on Trump’s foreign policy tactics, “He likes to start the negotiation with a very strong hand. So if you want NATO to increase defense spending by three per cent, ask for five. If you want privileged access to Greenland, ask to own it,” Posen said. Read the full @CBC article ‘Shock and awe’: Trump moves faster than last time to impose agenda.
