The spotted lanternfly has recently been detected in Wayne County. To combat the spread, the Huron-Clinton Metroparks were awarded a grant from the @MichiganDNR Michigan Invasive Species Grant Program to help survey and manage the SLF. Read more at

CURRENT CLOSURE: The splash pad feature at Turtle Cove in Lower Huron Metropark will be closed due to maintenance June 24 & 25. Fees and facility capacity will be reduced during this closure.

The beaches at Kensington Metropark will be closed tomorrow (6/24). The Metroparks' Natural Resources Department will be conducting a treatment of Kent Lake for algae near docks and beaches and for invasive species throughout the lake. The beaches will reopen Tuesday (6/25).

Last night's storms have caused power outages, flooding and down trees in many parks. Lower Huron Metropark is currently closed until late morning. Some nature centers and facilities are closed in other parks. Check the closures page before visiting.
