Congrats to Northville’s Trish Murray, our 2024 Assistant Coach of the Year! Murray has coached golf at Northville for a combined 24 boys and girls seasons, starting the girls’ program in 1991. She coached boys 1991-1997, and girls 1991 to 2004, returning as an assistant in 2022.

The MIGCA Winter Clinic will be Jan. 25 at EMU’s GameAbove Golf Performance Center at Eagle Crest Golf Course. Keynote speaker will be Theresa “Tree” Beeckman a former v-ball coach who travels the nation helping improve performance through culture and generational understanding.

Dan Stolz, Okemos, is the 2024 Girls Coach of the Year as named by the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association. Stolz’s team of 3 freshmen, 2 sophs and 1 senior won its 14th consecutive CAAC Blue Division championship and finished 5th at the MHSAA LP Division 1 Finals.

Congratulations to Ray Hill of East Jackson, our 2024 MIGCA Division 4 Coach of the Year, Hill has coached a combined 44 seasons of boys/girls golf at EJ. This year’s team finished 2nd at the Region 23 Tourney, and just the third squad in school history to qualify for the Finals.

Congrats to the Northville Mustangs and coaches Kate Schultz and Trish Murray for winning the MHSAA Division 1 LP State Championship in October! Northville took the State title by 46 shots at Katke Golf Course. It is their 5th State Championship since 2018.

Mark Posey of Big Rapids is our 2024 Division 3 Girls Coach of the Year. Posey has coached girls golf at Big Rapids for 16 years and been a part of the golf program there for 24 years. He is a member of the MIGCA Hall of Fame and Executive Board. Congratulations, Coach Posey!
