No he doesn't. You want Jrue Holiday taking a stepback midrange, and Hardy is just too short to guard Tatum on a switch. NBA defense isn't about preventing everything, its about allowing certain things. Against an elite offense like the Celtics, a lot of defense looks bad.

Something switched in 2018. Between the 17-18 season and 18-19 season:
- Pace went from 97.3 to 100
- FGA went from 86.1 per game to 89.2
- 3PA went from 29.0 to 32.0
- FTA went from 21.7 to 23.1
3P% didn't vary much, but FG% did pre-2018 to now, increasing from around 45 to 47%

These aren't the same 3s they've been taking all year. They are late shot clock 3s with harder close outs. Combine that with the fact that younger players tend to be more inconsistent with their shots and you can have a very bad deviation from the mean.

Chris Paul at his peak was a better midrange shooter, three point shooter (off the dribble and catch and shoot), and was an all-defense guard. Luka is a better finisher and better at getting to the line. Both are about equal playmakers. Luka will be better all time, though
