1 in 3 houses in AZ have a pool. As a pool tech, I see about 1/3 have either a DE or sand filter that need to be backwashed monthly to work properly. So at prime (60 gallons a minute) for 3 minutes, that ends up at 180 gallons of water in each lawn to evaporate.

The question of why our official in Arizona have let Saudi & UAE shell corporations, as well as others, to suck our rural wells dry is no longer a mystery:
We keep electing officials who want to privatize everything in our lives, like water access through desalination pipelines!
Right now the flow of water in Arizona is accountable to the people of Arizona through elected officials & bureaucracies.
