Lt. Gen. Karsten S. Heckl, commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force, gave a statement this morning regarding the tragic loss of our brave warriors that recently occurred in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The man was lying in the kitchen area, motionless and without a pulse, according to the statement. Bonner began chest compressions, taking over for one of the man’s fatigued co-workers, providing lifesaving aid for over 10 minutes until paramedics arrived.

A Marine tactical recovery team, from the 24th MEU stationed on the USS Kearsarge, rescued a downed U.S. Air Force F-16 pilot, Capt. Scott O'Grady, from Bosnian-Serb territory in Bosnia. O'Grady spent 6 days "behind enemy lines" evading Serbian forces.

Each day at sun rise and sundown, service members raise and lower the national colors in honor of those who served the United States;
It was our honor to escort the remaining seven Marines & one Sailor from the 15th MEU today. They along with one other Marine died tragically during an AAV training mishap which took place on July 30, 2020.
Our thoughts & prayers go out to all who mourn those who were lost.

A female Marine lieutenant has become the first woman in history to graduate from the USMC Scout Sniper Unit Leaders Course. She was the second female to successfully complete the Infantry Officer Course.
Today, we celebrate the 100th Birthday of Sergeant Elsie Finch Hartmann.
Hartmann is one of the first women to enlist into the Marines during WWII.
Hartmann worked at HQMC in Arlington, VA, and was awarded the American Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal.
When 2nd Lt. Michael Fisher was commissioned in the

March 2021, the ceremony was made even more special when his father, a master sergeant, honored him with the first salute. The moment captured on video reached over 6 million views on social media.
