@DH_1997_ I lived for decades in Moçambique and the folk memory of solving is still strong. The "strong" tribes, i.e. the Yao amongst whom I lived in the interior are still proud of their domination over the "weak " tribes which they sent to the Arabs on the coast.

@DH_1997_ This map is wrong and understates the routes and numbers shipped out via slave trading posts in Northern Mozambique. The Arab slavers are miscegenated today but still recognisable in the populations.

@AdamJSchwarz Lawless is Starmer giving it, and our cash, away. That's lawless authoritarianism.

@niall_gooch I mistook one today for a council labourer. Good job he had a reasonable sense of humour.

@roadcc Distracted? Criminally self distracting is more accurate. She is both subject and object. Not the object. Clear English matters.

@RabbiRomain It's plain and pathetic scientific ignorance. Gluten free wheat is never 100% gluten free. Alcohol free wine is also never 100% alcohol free. No biblical texts stating % proof of wine or % gluten in wheat flour either.

@tomhfh Complete tosh. Grammar schools are meritocratic, that is their beauty. Plenty of disruptive kids are simply bored. In Grammar schools they actually face challenges.

@notgonnagoyet On that flimsy basis why no French Huguenot signs. Or Hebrew or German or Polish signs? Coherence. ( would you like that translated?).

@jhallwood Slaw is a fine Germanic word in use in the UK in previous centuries. Salad is a Latin word used by the Roman and Norman invaders.
