Our 2024 Festive Ride final numbers are in. While there is still more work to do the vast majority of people made the choice to drive sober! My thanks to those who had a plan to get home safely. A very special thanks to @DRPSRoadSafety officers and @MADDDurham who gave up their time to engage in this important and lifesaving work. We stopped over 16,000 vehicle compared to 12,600 stops in 2023. Over 1100 ASDS (roadside tests) were administered in 2024 compared to 533 tests in 2023. We arrested 105 people for impaired driving which represents a 20% increase over 2023. While our Festive Ride has concluded, our efforts to identify, arrest and remove impaired drivers from our roadways continues all year long.

DRPS completed its sixth and final week of the 2024 Festive RIDE program, stopping more than 1,600 vehicles and charging 19 drivers with impaired driving offences. This represents a 20% increase over last year. Full story:

Driving impaired…because who needs a car anyways? Take an Uber. Or call Keys To Us, Think Twice DD, DDKingz Durham, DD4U, Road Runners DD Service, etc. The $50 you shell out for a DD is a lot cheaper than the $25,000 it’ll cost you for an impaired trial. ^mj @MADDDurham @DRPS
