@nonregemesse Well North Africa with the berbers, and Spain and stuff, a mix kind of. Sicialy, Greece has one of the dopest revolutions against the ottoman because the sentiment at the time made European monarchies side with the Ottoman (Napoleon fallout) but Hellenic influence pervailed

@hopefoolyholy I think that’s a different argument, what’s impressive is their mortal achievements lasting into modern influence in such a great scale, while there are endlesss people who were kings and generals prominent in their time from history who pale in comparison for a lasting impact

@hopefoolyholy What makes it a debate is attributing any action directly to a specific person, you can historically point to stories about a Jewish man in Nazareth, but what confirms the Caesars is the Julian family. DNA, their unequivocal independent actions, wills, and genuine identity.

@hopefoolyholy lol. No there aren’t. Julius and Augustus have contemporaries in their own right such as Cleopatra, Marc Antony, Pompey, Cato, Seneca. Julius subjected Vercingetteroux. Both Julius and Augustus developed Military tactics used through today.

@nonregemesse I like how Justin and Justinian became emperor. I think a mix of both choosing the most competent and certain families inheriting strong claims I think adopting a successor too is probably a smart way to limit civil war or conflict
