First Grand National day without my mum and since my husband passed. I’ve somehow got through Christmas,Mums birthday and Mothers Day but they both really loved this day. But I’ve put bets on for them and am wearing their rings. Missing them.

All this great family day out is getting rather tiresome. What about having a Saddos Bar for people like me of which I’m sure there are many who because of circumstances no longer have anyone to go racing with. Seems ‘family’ are the only ones that matter.

I cannot believe those beautiful blue eyes will not be opening again. I hope we meet again in another place . He cried a tear then just like that he was gone. He was a good person and did not deserve the hideous suffering he went through. My beloved Mike.

My girl Queenie who has been sitting on my husbands bed most of the day. She is very depressed. My husband is at end of life stage. Give me dogs over humans any day. His family have let him down big time but never his dogs.

Michael it has me too even though I didn’t watch I have seen various tweets. I feel slightly sickened watching racing today but it is a sport that has sustained me through thick and thin, it’s a question of if we still want it in our lives.

Well the best news for me this Christmas is that my 91 year old mum seems to have defeated Covid and Sepsis. Just want her home now it’s been a very rough 3 weeks .

Just had Top Gun Maverick on the tv in the background to racing.Not usually my type of film but fantastic action and imagery.I enjoyed it.But left me in tears. Just the type of film my late husband would have loved even in his later terrible stages.Strange where grief comes from.
