"Keep calm", interim chancellor A.#Schallenberg's current mission seems to be reassuring EU states that #Austria remains a reliable partner. Even if a #FPÖ-#ÖVP government will be formed.
As Poland currently holds the EU Presidency, it was good to speak to Prime Minister @donaldtusk today. At a time when war has returned to Europe, there is no doubt about where Austria stands. We remain a reliable and strong partner in the European Union.

On 1 January 2025, Romania and Bulgaria became full-rights members of the Schengen Area, 18 years after joining the European Union. The elimination of controls at their land borders with other EU states was possible after overcoming resistance from Austria. Full integration into the zone could provide a boost to the economic development of the new members. Today new train connection #BalticExpress🚆connecting #Prague🇨🇿 with #Gdynia🇵🇱has been launched (4x a day). A responce to a growing demand among Czechs for eagerness to visit Polish coast. Last year, approximately 350,000 Czechs have used accommodation in Poland.

EU states became home to many refugees from #Ukraine facing Russia's invasion. Compared with country's overall population the highest numbers of total temporary protection beneficiaries per 1 000 people are observed in #Czechia🇨🇿 (34.8) and Poland🇵🇱 (26.9) with EU's average 9.3.
On 31 October 2024, 4.2 million non-EU citizens who fled 🇺🇦Ukraine had temporary protection status in the EU 🛂 Among EU countries that provided data, most beneficiaries of temporary protection were in: 🇩🇪Germany (1 140 705 people) 🇵🇱Poland (983 880) ➡️

Bardzo dobra i konstruktywna rozmowa z minister obrony Czech @jana_cernochova na temat rozwijania naszej współpracy 🇵🇱&🇨🇿i wymiany doświadczeń z modernizacji naszych sił zbrojnych. Na ręce pani minister złożyłem także podziękowania dla 🇨🇿żołnierzy, którzy w czasie powodzi w Polsce razem z żołnierzami #WojskoPolskie brali udział w akcjach ratowniczych i pomagali walczyć ze skutkami kataklizmu.
