My daughter drove to uni today (3.5hours) to collect her belongings after end of degree.
She is amazed at the change in roads over the last 3 yrs away! Speed limit changes, no turns etc. She said it was unrecognisable. Confusing.

DfT and the Government were wrong to claim that there had been an increase in side road traffic.
Councils cited this to put in discriminatory LTNs. Private roads for some, and diverted traffic for others.

For me, LtNs displace traffic to other roads, and the increased journeys cause congestion and increased pollution on the boundary roads. Which makes those roads horrible for cyclists, walkers and drivers. And dangerous for those residents.

I try to drive v little but today I had to go to Wiltshire for a funeral. Looked at trains but it would need a car trip the other end of 10-20 miles and ⬆️ time. Couldn’t ask grieving family to help.
Car shared with others to reduce number of vehicles.

Very good (sarcasm) of Just Stop Oil to block Harleyford Road around Oval today. This is one of only 2 routes left in the to use due to Claire Holland’s’ LTN schemes. It is also the only way to avoid the Congestion Charge for locals.
