So these two pics is were taken during and after my very first firefight that lasted 5 minutes total.
Ammo carried:
556 - 16 mag on kit & go bag
9mm - 3, and 1 in pistol
16 - 40mm
After firefight:
1 mag in weapon
9mm didn’t shoot
In 5 minutes I blew threw all my ammo
Somebody correct if I’m wrong. “Go Bags”/ 3 day packs are meant to be light, and have the essentials to get you by until you can refit. Sustainably is absolutely key to surviving the challenges you may face in a gun battle. That being said……

After burning myself out with multiple back to back deployments I was afforded the opportunity to move my family to Florida to finish off my career. Jumped on it.

Skelt took my place running the FLETAC sometime before he died. Great dude. We went through the Q Course (18C & SERE) together and had a blast (both literally and figuratively). His death hurt so bad, and I never really got over how and why he died. RIP Bro!

A while back my youngest daughter Pooh Bear decided she wanted to and tried to join the Army. I was brought to tears when she told me why.
She wanted to be a hero like her dad. I never would call myself a hero. I know too many better men and women who are. Many are on this app.

2009ish I entered into a very dark point in my life. I deployed to Afghanistan for the third time. I should’ve sat it out. After this deployment I was home 90 days before I found out I would deploy again in January of 2010. I felt the weight of the world on my shoulders.

My last combat mission in Afghanistan before I had enough. This was my 7th combat deployment to Afghanistan and my 10th overall in 10 years. On this particular mission we came into contact in outside Mazar e Sharef. Maybe the most beautiful place in Afghanistan.
