Hate to be pedantic but Nick Pope actually started in the Thurlow Nunn First Division - he played against us for Team Bury in 2010. Unbelievable effort to end up getting an England call-up 👏🏻

Everybody at the club wishes David Leader a speedy recovery after sustaining a grade 4 laceration (4cms deep) on his kidney in Saturday's match at Kirkley.
David is still in hospital having more tests done before they decide definitively if he requires surgery.

Very proud of the management & players the way they've coped with the pressure of a relegation battle, winning the last 3 matches. Especially at Yarmouth because if we'd lost there we'd be down now.
A weight off the shoulders to go to the League Cup Final having stayed up ⚫️⚪️
2 trophies in 4 years, not too bad for a small village club...
Lots of hard work behind the scenes but ultimately we've been fortunate to have two managers deliver silverware

Will had a long night in A&E but had the wound on his head glued together.
There were no other issues, so Will was given the all clear and sent home.
we are pleased to announce that former Braintree Town Fc coach ”Liam Joyce” has agreed to take up the roll of manager at the club, Geoff Thomas said ” I was very pleased with the appointment and Liam said ”I feel very excited and pleased to be the new first team manager” 🖤🤍
Saturday saw first time call ups to first team duty for 2 youngsters. Which means initiation songs, here’s recent addition Jacob Fairweather’s incredible effort (without the words) 🎤👏🏽
Darren Moyes has decided to hang up his gloves, he played his last match today and nearly finished in style with a goal (while playing outfield...)
An outstanding keeper over the years for the likes of Sudbury, Cornard, Hadleigh, Whitton and Melford he will be sorely missed.
The club is pleased to welcome back Jamie Griffiths on loan from Needham Market.
Jamie scored 56 goals in 77 games in his first spell at Long Melford before signing for Needham in 2017.

for the rest of the season! 💪🏼
Unfortunately the Reserves match at Cornard was abandoned when James Dormady was taken to hospital with a suspected double fracture of the leg.
Best wishes from everyone at the club to James, who has been outstanding this season with over 20 goals across the Reserves & U18s ⚫️⚪️
It was fitting that Jamie Griffiths scored the late winner today, as before kick-off he received an award for making 100 appearances for the club.
Griff's grandparents Fred and Sylvie two loyal supporters of the club over many years presented the award ⚫️⚪️
Really pleased for
@CornardUtdFC
last night, they may be our "local rivals" but there is too much pettiness in local football. If ever a club deserved a night at Portman Road it's Cornard 👏🏻
A warm welcome to Ryan Gibbs who signs from Mildenhall Town.
Ryan scored 24 goals last season. He joins his brother Jordan (pictured presenting Ryan with the shirt last night) at Long Melford.
We also welcome Ethan Flack who dual signs from Bury Town. 👇

Goals from Emmanuel Machaya, Nathan Rowe (pen) and Pablo Chaves send Melford through to the semi-finals of the League Cup for the first time since joining the League in 2002.
We're all hurting after tonight's defeat but we'll always be proud of this group of players and the loyalty they've shown to the club.
We were happy to celebrate winning the League Cup with them in May, so we also need to stand by them on nights like this.

The club has received £10,000 from the Covid-19 business rate relief fund.

We're getting close to having a clubhouse the village's many senior and youth football teams can be proud to call home.
(Thank you to Kevin Cook for the photo taken earlier today).
A lively FA Cup tie under the lights, it didn't look great for Melford when Dan Swain was sent off at 2-1 down but the 10 men fought back.
The reward for tonight's win is £1,125 and a home tie against Kempston Rovers in the next round ⚫️⚪️
We were pleased to welcome a special guest at yesterday’s match.
George Charlton, an avid young supporter of the club, was invited into the changing room where he met the players.
George is pictured here meeting the team, with his dad Harry. ⚫⚪
End of an era...

The club is deeply saddened to report the death of Fred Griffiths.
Fred, grandfather to Jamie Griffiths, was a frequent supporter at home and away matches with his widow, Sylvia and regarded with much affection at the club.
We send our condolences to Fred’s family and friends.
Great work on the pitch as always by our groundsman Ivan Whitehart😍
We're always looking for more volunteers to help behind the scenes at the club.
Please get in touch if you'd like to get involved, whether that’s for an hour on a matchday, or more, we’d love to hear from you
✍️The club is pleased to welcome back Sam Bayliss, after a spell at Mulbarton Wanderers.
Manager Jamie Bradbury said today:
“We’re delighted to have Sam back at the club because he’s a top lad and a very good player who will add competition to our attacking areas.”
A special guest brought us a change of fortune.
Casper (10) lives in Northampton but is a keen supporter of The Villagers. He proved to be a lucky mascot in the win against league leaders Gorleston.
Casper was impressed with the performance and the welcome he received. ⚫️⚪️

Long Melford FC joins the nation in mourning the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Club should like to extend its condolences to all members of the Royal Family at this sad time.
Both teams last night did a one minute silence in memory of our Club Captain’s Nan and Grandad (Roger and Margaret) that very sadly passed away 12 days between their deaths. 🖤
We will do what we can to support Jacob, Jon and their family at this increasingly difficult time. 🤍

The club has decided to delay our return to match action until the New Year.
While we are desperate to see the season resume, we feel the health, safety and well-being of our players, staff, volunteers and supporters is the most important consideration.
