We've recently welcomed two bundles of fluffy joy to Longleat! Meet our two new red panda cubs.
We are asking as many of you as possible to submit a similar question to this to the gov daily briefings:
When uncontrolled outdoor areas and non-essential retail can open, why won’t the Government allow zoos and safari parks to reopen?
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to one of our veteran animal residents - Hippopotamus, Sonia, has passed away peacefully at the grand old age of almost 50. Please do share your favourite Sonia sightings with us and help keep her memory alive.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our oldest female tiger, Soundari, who has passed away following a long battle with cancer.
Soundari was a spectacular individual and will be sadly missed by everyone at the park.

It's a girl! 🐨💖
Whilst weighing our koala joey during a health check, we discovered that she is, in fact, a she.
Look out for your opportunity to help us name her tomorrow. In the meantime we'll just leave you with these adorable pics...
We are very sad to announce that last week we said goodbye to our hippo, Spot, who died at the age of 49.
Longleat was her home for 47 years. She was loved by her keepers and made a big impression with our visitors.
We are sorry to announce that Buster, our much loved male sea lion, has passed away at the grand old age of 26.
Here is one of our keepers' favourite videos of him. If you have any pictures or videos to share, please do post them in the replies.
We’re delighted to announce that our adorable red panda cubs now have names. Meet Tala & Sumi!
Tala is Nepalese for ‘lake’ because they were our first red panda cubs born by Half Mile Pond & Sumi means ‘beautiful’ (no explanation needed) have you seen how gorgeous they are?! 😍
Do you think that Keeper Caleb might have taken the most adorable photo of all time? We think this one of Rusty is up there. Got your own 'fearless' cats at home? Share pics of them with us below!
To prepare for their first public appearance later this summer, our adorable Amur tiger cubs had their first vaccinations! 🐯
Watch the full update here to find out how they got on:
We recently welcomed FOUR cheetah cubs into the world! It's the largest litter we've had so needless to say we're thrilled that both mum & cubs are doing well. We're hoping that they'll be out on show by the end of the month but we'll let you all know once it's confirmed 😍
Our koala joey is growing up fast! As you can see, this little cutie is getting bigger and fluffier, growing that thick southern koala coat to stay warm outside of mum Violet's pouch.
🐅 Our two Amur Tiger cubs, Rusty and Yuki have ventured outside for the first time!
🌳 Currently the cubs & mum have access to one of the back paddocks, so you may spot them. However, they still have some more growing up to do yet before you see them running around your cars 🚗
We're very excited to announce the name of this little cutie! Drumroll please... 🥁
Meet Monty! 🎉
Thank you so much to everyone who voted for a name. Come and see Monty and his family at Koala Creek over Easter.
