A few months ago, an insurer in Georgia tried to bill a dear friend of mine for $40,000 for an emergency appendectomy, which they said needed prior authorization.
After making one (1) call to the insurer, they miraculously dropped the request for payment.
It's all a scam.

Then I started seeing how cheap property tax actually is. A half MILLION dollar property in Denver accrues about $1,700 in property tax per YEAR.
New: Gov. Jared Polis announcing property tax plan. It would cut next year's tax hike. Intead of an average residential increase of $1,070 for 2024 bills, it would be about $400. It will require approval at the ballot this fall. Polis says it's a 10-year solution.
