Defended my thesis last week at Kansas State in agronomy (weed science)
A lot of folks got me this far, and deserve thanks in this thread
Ready or not, planting season is coming. Excited to be an agronomy asset for farmers and advisors as Technical Service Manager for FMC.
This week I started as Technical Service Manager at FMC for Nebraska, Colorado, and part of Wyoming!
I’m able to transition back closer to the family farm, work with university researchers, farmers, and FMC!
Couldn’t imagine a better opportunity to start my career.
I hear about a lack of young folks in ag
My dad instilled in me to get a good education, marry money, and find another way of living. He didn’t want a life of struggle for his daughter.
I only did one of those things, but the old guy was sure proud when I wanted to come back
Planting here in Central Nebraska.
Brother and I are figuring out GPS for the first time on the farm.
So much dust blowing, I thought it was western Kansas for a second.
I’m a firm believer that everyday is a good day.
Even if I’m about to spend the next few months driving from agronomy update to agronomy update.
Ruger is upset she cannot attend these.
I’m blessed to have
-a family I worry about
-a husband to clean up after
-difficult days at work
-another day of windy weather
-grandparents that need my help
-a corgi that never stops shedding

The stress only put me in the ER once
Excited for a slower 2024, but God has a funny way of giving us what we need, not what we want
Finding joy in the little things.
What we do at plant shows up in the field every day forward.
We only get so many “at- plants” in this life. Enjoy it. Make it count.
Another W in the books as my MSc degree edges closer to the end
I won my section at the Weed Science Society of America poster contest.
I think this quote says it best:
“There's a couple people that I owe a beer or two. There’s 3 or 4 I owe more than a few.”
Opening weekend here in Nebraska!
Wind quit blowing just enough this evening to make it enjoyable.
Only thing that could make me smile a little more is a good inch of rain.
Sunday is a day of rest
Luckily some of the work I do, doesn’t seem like work at all🌱😌
Another collection site to determine if cereal rye cover crop affects pigweed seed viability
Another science fair in the books😉
I was able to take home first place in the paper presentation section “Weed Ecology, Biology, and Management”
And just outside of placing with my grazing cover crops poster

What’s something on farm that you feel is unique to your area, state, or operation?
I’ll go first. We ridge till on our place in south central Nebraska.
As I reflect on my first summer back working in Nebraska
I’m very thankful for Nebraska Extension and the research folks I work with at UNL
Easy to forget some other states aren’t as fortunate to have such a strong program
Really good research going on here in the San Luis Valley. I’ll continue to research here for a number of reasons.
The main one being they gifted me a local watermelon.
Soaking up “the good old days” while I’m still livin in em
-Dad won’t always be there to show
-Grandma won’t always be around to fry them up
-Brother won’t always have the time
I got surveyed if I get most of my joy from work.
The lady acted like I was wrong when I said “yes”.
Why would I dedicate 8+ hrs everyday to something I didn’t love doing?
My family’s the best part of life, but there’s many days my they’re working by my side.
If looking at the stars on a clear night in the middle of nowhere doesn’t knock you on your heels
You’ve probably never looked at the stars on a clear night in the middle of nowhere
Great great grandpa Anton B Krolikowski, born Jan 14, 1881
Traveled thousands of miles from Poland and passed all the farm ground to the east
Then, unfortunately decided to stop in the hills of the polish capital of Nebraska
KSU Seminar: Wednesday, March 1st
I’m presenting my research on cereal rye cover crop effects on the Palmer amaranth and waterhemp seedbank
Tune in for my 15 min presentation for results, if interested! 🌱
ZOOM:
You might be invested in learning if cover crops ~degrade weed seeds~ in the soil
BUT you’re probably not “individually count 31,250 pigweed seeds” invested
THATS OK!! Cause we are!!

When I got to Manhattan, KS, there wasn’t a Casey’s or an Eileens cookies. Now there’s both😍
I think Nebraska followed me here, and I couldn’t be happier.
I don’t care how weird or awkward it can be.
Tell your friends, your family, and your coworkers that they can call you if they ever want to talk in a time of need.
Rating my help pt. 1
Theisen: 9/10, teaches care for a diesel pickup in winter, slight attitude in cold, only weekend help I can get
Ruger: 7/10, positive attitude, eats cover crop as I sample, still cute
Cover Crop Corgi research update from fields in Topeka+Clay Center:
Ground cover is thin, but economic gains are made with grazing. We’ll leave the regrowth for later this spring

Just some reminders:
•The grass ain't always green
•Bigger doesn’t always mean better
•Money doesn’t grow on trees ever
•God isn’t gonna to do the praying for ya
Quite an evening and location to be able to share my research in Jefferson County, KS.
Grateful to be here and for the chances I’m given in this life.

Ever question going to church on Sunday?
My grandpa did last week and decided not to attend. A good friend who he hadn’t seen in awhile attended and asked about him. That friend passed away this week.
Please, stay on the grind and attend. Tomorrow isn’t promised.
Said goodbye to a fellow student, as she moves across the country to bigger and better.
From the start, been a crucial part in my learning of applied weed science, K-state, and Kansas!
Some days you don’t get much done at work, but if you spent your time doing any of these things, it was time well spent.
1. Helped a person, project, neighbor
2. Strengthened a relationship
3. Put a smile on someone’s face
