Just had first ever Tesco home delivery towards the end of the time slot. Driver hugely apologetic for not arriving sooner (he wasn’t late) but previous customer (91) had just lost wife of 70 years to dementia and was upset so driver stayed to chat.
That’s proper service! ❤️
I have been to my first needle felting workshop this morning and elected to make a rabbit. 🐰
It looks like a deformed donkey with a crack habit. 🐴
I have decided I’m really not cut out for crafting. 😂
Beside myself. Test results show hubby does NOT have the rare incurable blood cancer we so feared. I'm in pieces with joy. Thanks to those who've known and understood why I've not really been around much recently. Such a relief. I may have shed a tear or two...
When I met and married this wonderful man in under 10 months, they said it wouldn't last. Today is our 36th wedding anniversary. We may be older with wrinkles (and one of us has a lot less hair) but who cares as we grow old together?
#HappyAnniversary
to us!
Feeling slightly emotional at winning the Best Overall Blog at the
#bloggersbash
awards. Thank you SO much if you nominated me or voted. I am thrilled ❤️😍
Sorry to be a bit AWOL. Celebrating 38 years of marriage today so hubby deserves my attention 😍
Brunch in Bryan the motorhome. 7 mile walk done. Champagne afternoon tea to come 💖
41 years and we haven’t changed a bit! Not a wrinkle or grey hair in sight!
Celebrated our wedding anniversary with fish and chips on the beach in Hunstanton, a seven mile stomp in the breeze and a 99 ice-cream.
Home to ignore each other on the sofa as we read our books ❤️📚😂
Delighted to come home to my new
@popsyclothing
dress with BOOK PRINT and POCKETS.
Fits so well, is exactly as described, is comfortable and the service was amazing.
Check out their website!
Crikey, those 37 years went quickly! Met, and married within 10 months at 12.30 on 27th August 1983, and they said it wouldn’t last! Happy anniversary to us!
Tomorrow we’ll be all at sea without a signal
We met. Moved in together in a week
Engaged in 6 months
Married 4 months later
That was 40 years ago tomorrow
Time flies, wrinkles are gained with the memories. Life’s been tough at times but we’ve always had each other. Lucky us ❤️
I may have the tiniest north facing garden on heavy clay where I can almost see plants shivering, but it brings me such joy so I thought I’d share it with you too. Have a great Tuesday!
Oh good grief! I know my typing is hopeless and I have to correct almost every word but I've just sent a missed, auto-corrected, sign off of 'bestial wishes' in an email...
I have my old English teacher and his wife coming over this afternoon. He last taught me 40 years ago but I still love to see him a couple of times a year as partly because of him I blog, was a teacher and love literature and reading. 📚
Just found a message request on Insta from a student I taught 40 years ago. How wonderful is this:
You were my English Teacher …Wow, sorry if it's weird, but you really moulded me into the lady I am today. Thank you.

Just home to find my brother-in-law has put my
#bookpost
in the dining room. Jet-lagged and snowed under with washing so my thanks if you’ve sent me a book recently! Proper thanks after my birthday tomorrow when I’ve caught up a bit! Thank you! 📚😍😃
Happy New Year to all the authors who’ve written a book this year.
I may not have your book, I may have it but haven’t read it yet. It may not be a huge commercial success and it might not appear on any ‘best of’ lists, but you deserve every congratulations and appreciation 📚👏
Took Mum out today so couldn't make
#rnaindustryawards
Got hit on the head by largest Christmas bauble dropping from height (yes really) so when I saw
#RNAIndustryAwards
Media Star of the Year is Linda Hill (me) thought the bump on the head was deceiving me. Thrilled and humbled
Just realised my blog, Linda’s Book Bag, is 9 today.
I’ve apparently put out 3206 posts with just under 600,000 views.
Why not take a look and see if there’s a book there you’ve yet to discover?
I tweet about books, BUT, a 70+ friend went to stay with her son before lockdown. She is in intensive care having caught Covid from him. Told she may need intubation but possibly won’t survive it.
Hubby’s old school friend died yesterday from Covid.
Please, please be careful.
I may* not be at
#Harrogate
#TheakstonsCrime
and I may* have just returned from dealing with another of Mum’s colitis bouts, but my day has just improved remarkably by receiving this fabulous
@ZaffreBooks
#HarrogateAtHome
box.
Proper thanks later but really, 😍🥹❤️
*sadly true
My goodness! If you were responsible for nominating me in four of the
@BloggersBash
📚 award categories, I simply can't thank you enough. Thrilled and humbled to be nominated and feel a winner regardless of what the outcome may be. Good luck to all nominees!
Thank you all so very much for my birthday cards, flowers, gifts and messages here and on Facebook. I tried to answer them all but had to give up! They are all very much appreciated xx 🥰😍
Normal book sharing to resume soon 📚
Honestly folk.
Check your hot water bottles (circle with expiry date on neck - though ironically mine was new).
Mine burst on me a couple of weeks ago.
I have the most awful burnt stomach.
Clothes are painful to wear.
Getting further treatment next week.
Oh my days! It’s Christmas in the Hill household. Thank you so very much for my fabulous
@OrendaBooks
prize from
@ReviewCafe
Karen and Lorraine. I am beside myself with joy. I can’t wait to get

After falling out of the motorhome last August and ripping all the nerves and tendons in my right foot, then fighting the bannisters and damaging my left foot, before having a huge neuroma removed from it, today I have finally been back to Pilates.
I call that a win. Go me. 🏆
Thank you to all the wonderful publishers, blog tour organisers and authors who have trusted me with their books this year. Thank you to all the bloggers who have shared my posts and to those of you here who’ve been so supportive.
Wishing you all a happy Christmas.
A huge thank you for all the birthday wishes. It’s been a lovely day. Sorry if I missed saying thank you personally and for not sharing as usual. Despite this image from a friend I’m no Superwoman so I couldn’t multi-task eating, drinking and enjoying my day!
So many have been asking me but the rumours are NOT true. I'm definitely NOT giving up blogging, just taking a new
#blogtour
sabbatical for a short while. It's all explained here
Oh my word! I’m doing something for the fabulous
@samatlounge
as part of
@EmpoweredAuthor
next month and just look at this simply astonishing bouquet that has just arrived as a thank you.
Thank YOU Sam. Such a beautiful gesture (literally and metaphorically). xx
Hubby: It’s always foul weather on my birthday.
Me: Not this year surely? It’s been so hot and dry.
View from motorhome (last evening but worse today!)
Typical weather for hubby’s 65th!
Woo! The
@BloggersBash
awards voting is now open. I'm thrilled to be nominated for Best Overall Blogger and would love a vote if you felt like it!
Thanks so much those who nominated me and good luck to all nominees!
I went to

#TheakstonsCrime
There were books (left)📚
I came home - there are books (right)📚
Proper thanks to come when I’ve opened the post, but I need a cup of tea first!
Thanks to everyone involved in the festival and to those who’ve sent me books ❤️
Exciting news! The fabulous
@Lindahill50Hill
will be reviewing some great books online for
@My_Weekly
at Read this interview with her here where she talks about travel, novel writing...and of course books!
Love travel, but equally love returning home to

💕 Many thanks for all these. Proper thanks to come when I've unpacked and the washing is done!
I'm overwhelmed by the generosity of the bookish world. Thank you all so much for your blog support, events, books, gifts and most importantly, friendship, in 2019.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy 2020.
We’ve been friends for 53 years and there are 4 days between us in age.
So good to go to
@TolethorpeSSC
to see Sense and Sensibility together tonight.
Great cast and thanks to all the front of house and behind the scenes staff too.
Happy New Year everyone.
I hope 2020 is happy, healthy and successful for you all.
Thank you so much for your real and virtual friendship and your blog support.
Much love,
Linda

Don’t talk to me about gingerbread.
I made ginger snaps.
Opened the oven to find one 6 foot long biscuit so welded to the oven sides and floor that Dr H had to chisel it off! I’m a great cook as well as a skilled crafter 😂😅
