This is not normal. In Adams administration - Transportation experts & engineers are ignored & street safety decisions are determined based purely on politics. Projects that would save lives are gutted because the Mayor is concerned about losing donors.

Last week - Adams admin/DOT presented proposals to our community that they said were 2-lanes of traffic on BQE. Now they are saying 3 lanes. This would add 6M more cars & trucks in our community every year. The climate crisis is upon us & we cannot accept this.

We should shutter this helipad. Our climate crisis necessitates that we eliminate nonessential helicopter travel that causes noise & pollution across our city. Whether providing flights for the uber-elite to get to the Hamptons or tourist travel, it has no business in NYC.

NEW: An aviation company with ties to a board member at NYC's economic development agency is set to receive a lucrative contract to operate the agency’s downtown Manhattan helicopter pad, raising concerns about a potential conflict of interest.

It’s outrageous that DHS has not issued a Code Red alert. We have clear practices that allow all street homeless individuals to go to any shelter in NYC during public health emergencies like extreme temperatures. That should include hazardous air quality.

Today, due to Mayor’s latest draconian budget cuts - schools are forced to cut $1B midyear & thousands 3K & pre-k spots are gone. Libraries end Sunday hours next month. Parks, CUNY, housing - all cut. Revenue is up, reserves are steady, & Mayor keeps making deeply harmful cuts.

Some stunning new stats from @suhbhat. Under Eric Adams quality of life enforcement:. Criminal summonses for public drinking up 6x. Public urination 4x. Violating park rules 4x. Littering 3x. Excessive noise 2x. 90% went to Black or Hispanic NYers.

Mayor Adams will be receiving public taxpayer matching dollars for his 2025 reelection campaign while investigations into his 2021 campaign remain unresolved. Our campaign finance reform bill would stop the release of matching funds to campaigns who fail to respond to the CFB.

There was a recent attack on Boerum Hilll neighbors holding a stoop sale for direct aid to families in Gaza. Our community should feel safe to support Palestinians without facing attacks or hateful rhetoric. Im in touch with impacted neighbors & DA to ensure full investigation.

Forcing employees into sexual acts for overtime pay. It’s repugnant. This is a disturbing pattern of corruption, abuse of power, & harassment across the senior ranks of the Adams administration. And the mismanagement of NYPD has undermined public safety in our City.

I’m not accustomed to writing this - but the New York Post editorial board got it right. Police Commissioner Edward Caban must go. The NYPD partners with FBI all day to keep New Yorkers safe and their leader cannot do his job if he’s an FBI target.

A budget is a moral document. This budget doesn’t deliver what NYers need & fails to make strategic investments to rise to our current challenges. I appreciate the Council’s hard work to stop some cuts but, after much consideration I could not vote for this vision for our city.

This is the take of a white person who doesn’t have to worry for the safety of his family when they are pulled over by police. I’m relieved @dr_yusefsalaam & his family are okay. On Tuesday, we’ll be voting to override Mayor’s veto to ensure greater oversight of all NYPD stops.

This is damning: an elected official with illegal tints and out-of-state plates, not legally registered, using his official title to evade the law. Worse yet, he lied about the exchange until NYPD set the record straight. CM Salaam should resign as Public Safety Chair.

How is this person still employed by the City of New York?. Mayor Adams’ decision to turn a blind eye to this cronyism is disgraceful. Tim Pearson does not belong in public service and he does not deserve a taxpayer funded attorney for his alleged serial sexual harassment.

Tim Pearson met w/ the PD's Internal Affairs chief and an IAB Inspector soon after a purge of cops in a mayoral unit who have since sued him for retaliation. “The timing suggests it was the start of retaliation against my clients,” their lawyer says.

It’s messed up City Council has to hold a rally in a heat wave to prevent Mayor from cutting library service to 5 days per week. Far worse is that he already eliminated Sunday service at all libraries. We need libraries for cooling centers, internet, access to learning & more!

This morning, @NYCCFB announced its decision to not provide taxpayer matching funds to Mayor Adams’ re-election. The Adams campaign has brazenly and repeatedly flouted the law. This was the right and necessary decision to protect the integrity of our campaign finance system.
