@GovStitt fired school board members and installed his own in the wake of Patriot @RyanWaltersSupt announcement that he would be working with the Trump team to remove illegals. Is it a coincidence that this is just before the vote to approve Walters’ improved social studies and science standards? Ryan Walters is doing what he promised us he would do. Governor Stitt has proven more than once that he is not concerned with what his constituents want. He has stood against @realDonaldTrump before. Remember he endorsed DeSantis in the primary of the 2024 presidential race when ALL 77 counties voted for Trump! He told the Oklahoma Republican State Committee that he “wanted to get behind someone that could win 2 terms.” (Indicating that he thinks the 2020 election was legitimate.) I believe Stitt will be getting a few phone calls today.

I do not trust all faculty in the school and I want my daughter to have her phone to be able to call me at any time, and to document any nasty behavior. Imagine the freedom predators have with no kids allowed cell phones. I have a parental control app on any device my kids have. My daughter cannot access the internet or most of her apps during school hours. I keep an eye on what she is doing. This is a parental responsibility, not the state’s. I agree that there are mental health issues with cel phones. Once again, that is why parental control apps allow parents to give allotted screen time, manage the total amount of time allowed on screens, and decide which apps need to be blocked. Children should not have their phones out in class. Phones need to be put up for several reasons, and that is the teacher’s responsibility. A good parental control app won’t have anything distracting accessible during school hours anyway. Also, I am stricter than most. An issue in our home is what she is allowed to do with her school Chromebook. They have safeguards on that, but they are not as strict as mine. I personally do not like the school giving her a device I don’t have parental controls on. They are already overstepping their boundaries, and make this request of no cel phones hypocritical. I do not trust every school employee and want my daughter to have a phone and camera on her at all times. Parental Controls work. Government overreach is never good. This is the control in the name of safety, again. “If you would give liberty for security, you deserve neither one.”

In Oklahoma, we are working to bring transparency and integrity back to the Republican Party. We have made great strides in that effort over the last several years. This year, we are targeting unfair delegate votes at convention. The counties get a certain number of delegate votes based on votes for the Republican candidate in Presidential or Gubernatorial most recent election. The rules give a set amount of delegate votes to the Young Republicans and College Republicans. The set amount is more than many counties. We are changing that. Here is my why as I’ve been asked to make a statement: There are several organizations in Oklahoma that support the Republican Party. One group should not feel entitled to privileged treatment. No organization should get their own delegate votes at a state convention. Why would we pick only a certain group that gets preferred treatment? We encourage young people to participate in party politics. We ask that they come with their county, as every other adult does. Every county I visit is wondering where the younger generation is. They are in the Republican Party, but they are incentivized to segregate. We want them to meet on their own, like many women’s groups, 2A groups, moms groups, etc. do, but they need to come to convention as delegates of their county. I choose to believe the original intent of giving the Young Republicans and College Republicans their own delegate votes was a sincere effort to include them. I also believe it was unfair from the start. Where is the line fairly drawn? Should we give elderly special votes? Should we give women special votes? We encourage the Young Republicans and College Republicans to come to convention….with their county. They are adults with the same responsibilities and expectations as everyone else.
