Under the leadership of Dr. Hampl and with the contributions of other pediatricians, epidemiologists, implementation scientists and child advocates from around the country as well as the support of the AAP, these guidelines are released today.

This national effort took over 3 years and involved a group of national experts synthesizing the best available evidence from a rigorous evidence review to create the AAP’s first CPG on this topic, replacing the previous Expert Committee Recommendations published in 2007.
