@opencontent I agree 100%. Too often in these efforts (big and small), there is a missing or poorly thought out part of sustainability. It just took time, maturity, and the "need to know" in order to make that clear to me (vs. who I was seven years ago).

@opencontent The discussion was a sort of monoculture. Obvious issues that faculty would point out were ignored (or publishers in your concerns). I understand the difficulties in motivating a diverse group of people, but if they want a successful national thrust, a different tact is needed.

@opencontent I also attended several of these meetings and I share your concerns. I personally felt some of the wayward discussions would have been more on target if there were more diverse perspectives in the room (i.e., faculty, publishers, administrators, etc.).

@Rich_Hershman I cannot see them cobrand their textbooks as both OER and religious-based. So the two concepts may not bleed into each other... "think" that is.

@AnnaRMills Yep. Part of our new AI-coauthoring tools is an alt-text generator/editor. I look foward to checking out your video to see how you are doing it.

@AnnaRMills @jtneill @OpenEdGlobal Nice. Almost exclusively focused on Wikipedia; it would be nice to mention other wiki-based Open Pedagogy projects. This looks like it capture most of what we learned over the past 16 years. I like it.

@opencontent Coincidentally, the core technology around our OER libraries is a wiki. This was selected since it was the ideal approach for large scale construction and curatation - two critical aspects of a "community commons" especially when open to all to contribute and edit.

@Brehove @AnnaRMills @Bali_Maha Ok. A bit more complicated. We have to do some5hing like this for some JS widgets to be used in out textbooks. Let me check the status of that project.

@Brehove @AnnaRMills @Bali_Maha Do you want just to host the JS code or to have a server render it (and iframe into somewhere)?

@Brehove @AnnaRMills @Bali_Maha Is it just a text file or some wrapper file or something else?

@AnnaRMills @Brehove @Bali_Maha Perhaps. Sorry to be dense here but what is a Claude artifact? And what does it need to run (presumably Claude)?

BTW: I just saw the prototype of the AI Author Tools we are building for building OER in the LibreTexts libraries. This will be cool when released...

@danmcguirempls Ethical in my world means using OER to train the model so the results are not stolen material. This is the gist of the RAG based AI-tutor that will accompany our textbooks soon.
