So
@ThomasTankMerch
told me about this book Little Trains of Britain that the S4 crew used for research.
Glennock-Ballybeg IoM railway
Signalbox-Talyllyn Railway
(1/?)
Inclined to say these 6 are among the most evil trucks in Thomas' history. They actively pursued Duck, declaring loudly their intention to "throw him off the rails" and were pleased to have almost hit a passenger train and laughed the whole trip
Noticed this "barn" seen throughout S4 has a close resemblance to Duffws shed and the Old Paint Shop, both on the Ffestiniog Railway. Could use a second, third, fourth opinion on the idea.
Don't know why this isn't on the Wikia. A near HD shot of the seaside village from S3. So clear the Coast Guard's name is fully legible on his bow. I'll get it scanned later today
On this day in 1984 Thomas and the Guard aired for the first time and with it came the green double decker bus and this is my WIP replica (still a bit to do and change)
After some research I found the original was a Rosedale Toys Routemaster (more below).
I love how most of the steamies Vs diesels scene is relatively minor inconveniences of being bumped into boxes or under the coal hopper, then Henry decides F those diesels and throws diesel off the end of a siding.
Kind of poetic, in Molly's introduction episode she wanted to take a special special, then the last thing she was seen pulling in the series was the funfair trucks.
She got her special special in the end.
Got a Chinese Hit era book with several unseen promo shots from Mighty Mac, It's Good to be Gordon, Thomas and the Colours and Jack Jumps In.
These are just some, happy to get them scanned for everyone's viewing pleasure
So I received this photo from the classic series art director Rob Gauld-Galliers of the G-Hewi aeroplane model used in the show's third series.
The model is a one off 1:33 scale model commissioned by the president of the Piper J3 society then later gifted to Rob.
The firefly ghost engine seen in the S5 rushes was likely traced from this photo of Dolgoch, though mistakenly the smokebox door hinge is on the wrong side.
In the episode itself the silhouette is more head on
Here's a shot of my camera viewscreen so you folks can see the Toad face on the GWR brake van.
This face was made during the Hit era, clue 1 being the yellowing eyes. Clue 2 being it was present on the S12 refs but not the S6 refs
How did you interpret the line "James shall go and fetch some" in reference to special Welsh coal.
I always thought it meant James actually had to go all the way to Wales to collect the coal.
I would like to issue a challenge to the fandom in the run up to halloween. I'd like to see people create Thomas or Tugs inspired costumes before the end of the month. On halloween i'll put them into a collage.
To whoever hastily bought this, you've been had. It's not original, it's just a run of the mill Milbro wagon. Fairly certain I've seen it on eBay before. Get your money back if you can.
