Of course you'd need to know history. In 1948, Jordan occupied the West Bank and in 1953 Egypt occupied Gaza. The 2+ million Arabs living in Israel with full citizenship and equal rights, are descendants from the 170K Arabs Israel granted citizenship to in 1948.

Area A of West Bank is under full civil and security control of the Palestinian Authority. They control their borders (it's illegal for Israelis to enter Area A), they have a police force, provide water and electricity, trash collection, collect taxes, etc.

Palestinians in Gaza are under Hamas rule per their elections. In the West Bank, more than 80% live in Area A which is under full civil and security control by the PA. I think Palestinians are fine people. It's their leaders who are corrupt, evil, and have been brainwashing them
